Set in modern Tokyo, young people come together to weave an epic tale alongside heroes from an alternate world. This brand-new RPG, developed by ATLUS, is infused with elements of the popular Fire Emblem series. In the struggle between the worlds of glamour and darkness, these young heroes rise to face the challenge.

‘Mirages’ – beings of immeasurable power hailing from another dimensions – have begun to invade our world. Some are evil, but others are drawn to humans with tremendous creative potential and have shared their powers to guard humanity.

The young heroes fight as Mirage Masters and, at the same time, have big dreams to become great entertainers. They polish their singing and acting skills in the entertainment business in their daily life, and work as artists. They must confront not only invading Mirages, but also the world of entertainment as they fight their way to stardom.

Great game, well worth this price. In fact, it would be worth grabbing at this price if you ever intend to play it; a few more months and I can see the price of this sky-rocketing.

Is this any good? I heard it got censored or something.

It is really good, yes. It shares much in common with the Persona series (expected as it started life as an SMT x Fire Emblem crossover) but is a little more streamlined/simplistic in comparison. It's very character driven with all voice acting in Japanese; the subtitles do a terrific job of conveying the mood and feel of the game (usually light-hearted).

There were some censored costumes but don't worry about that as those left in the game are pretty skimpy anyway (if that's your thing).

It is a very Japanese game and if you liked the Persona series then this is an excellent complement to those games. There aren't many RPGs on the Wii U so this doesn't have much competition, fortunately, it is an excellent way to spend 40-60 hours - provided you don't mind JRPG character tropes.

thanks op and ordered

good price for a niche title. worth picking up for the ridiculous price it'll no doubt command on eBay in a few years.

Shame on me, but I had no idea this game reviewed soooo well!

Good price!

Bought a used copy (like new) for £32 just the other day. gutted.

Great price.

Thanks McFlinn....ordered!!

Another in a long, long, long line of largely ignored and/or unappreciated Nintendo WiiU games. Chav fodder (sadly) filling up the charts.

Heads up...Colour Splash (WiiU) releasing tomorrow.

Every latter day Wii U game is going to skyrocket in price. In fact, it's probably worth buying all the Wii U games now...

Yes it got censored and it wasn't in just a trivial way either. It was never going to sell well as it's a niche game but the controversy around it didn't do it any favours and reduced its sales further. That and other factors like it was a lazy translation.

N-not sure if I should...

No idea what this game is like but taken a punt to see if I like it. It will easily resell if its not my cup of tea. Thanks OP.

That's strange. It's showing up now for me, whereas earlier it wasn't. I had seen the deal on their site, so I typed in Wii U here to see if it was mentioned but couldn't find it. Then found it under Tokyo Mirage Sessions.

Absolutely, grabbing Paper Mario: Colour Splash as soon as possible is a must. It may drop £5 over the next few months (£10 if you're really lucky) but I can see that going up to Paper Mario: ATTYD prices before long.

paid full price for this from the game collection the other week. oO

Paper Mario will be bought around Xmas... That's when EVERY game is going to plummet in price. A good time to stock up on game releases then - past and present.

Got it for £29.99 with the Amazon £10 credit so it was worth it. It's still factory sealed because when I'll play it it'll be with the uncut patch. Nintendo really butchered the western release.

That's just a guess. And Colour Splash shouldn't be compared to TYD because it isn't as good although still fun.

By that logic, Super Paper Mario should have had its price sky-rocketing but it's not.

Nintendo is partly at fault due to the huge censorship they applied to the game. It's playable but the western release isn't how the game was intended to be.

Game is really good! Painfully ignored, even by the niche JRPG loving crowd, which is a real shame because the game is legitimately great. Its an immensely niche subject matter that isn't really western friendly at all if you haven't been exposed to stuff like idols, try and go in with an open mind.

purchased.. Cheers OP

Of course it's a guess, I simply don't possess the ability to determine - with accuracy - the future. However, Paper Mario Colour Splash is being released very late in the Wii U's life span and probably won't sell particularly well which will make it rare to obtain in the coming years. Perhaps comparing it to the price of the original Paper Mario would have been better as that hit the N64 in very similar circumstances and now commands a high price on the second hand market. Nevertheless, I suspect that the price of Colour Splash will get quite high over the next few years - much like TYD's has done (even though the circumstances of its release were different to Colour Splash).

I did not compare Colour Splash to TYD in terms of quality and, in this case, the quality of the games doesn't matter as it is the rarity leading to a high second hand price that I was comparing. Which is also why Super Paper Mario should not be compared because a) it came out well before the death of the Wii and b) sold really quite well and is therefore not rare enough to prompt a price increase on the second hand market.

Now out of stock? The webpage is loading without a price and the "add to basket" button.

Don't - I repeat don't buy WiiU games as an investment, PLEASE, even if (yes) each will likely hold value and it some cases skyrocket in price. No, but WiiU games to PLAY them, PLEASE. You won't be disappointed.

Just no. Like Bayonetta 1 and/or 2 (for example) it's a game which doesn't appeal to the chavs, masses or plebs, hence low sales. Doesn't make it right or wrong, just a fact of the industry.

I bought Fast Racing Neo last week. Had second thoughts about unsealing the game. Broke the seal anyway...

It's fun.
