These sorts of things attract squirrels, then rats, in my experience. So long as you can put up with that, then this is hot.

Rats will love you - neighbours won't though - LOL

Hope you don't live by me

It'll only attract rats if you're a lazy so and so who doesn't clean up the spilt seed every night.

Squirrels can sniff out a bird feeder at a million paces. However most people who want to feed birds usually like other wildlife too.

Personally I have no truck with squirrels, and the birds work around the squirrels.

Squirrels can be dissuaded by adding chilli powder to the seed or nuts - the birds don't taste it, but it gives the squizza a shock. Alternatively you can buy hanging feeders that are squirrel proofed (although the little ones still squeeze in through the bars from time to time)

Similarly, you can use diversion feeding (their own squirrel feeder) which is a tactic I have employed successfully.

The actual feeder itself looks a good design - particularly like the stand at the bottom
