Yes, same same.
I asked WF via Twitter a month or so ago about factory support for unlocking the bootloader and root, all they did was favourite my post and gave no answer at all - I'll be sitting on the fence for a while and seeing what sort of support it gets on XDA.
Edit: Oh, and unless I'm mistaken, dual SIM support removes micro SD expansion support. Just a heads up.
Dual SIM support removing microSD support isn't great, at least it has 32GB storage though.
Ability to root also essential for my needs!
Yeah as previously said, you get access to the play store. It's very similar to stock android with a few added customisation and productivity tweaks, some that usually require rooting.
It's 95% pure Android. You have a few extra options to customise your phone. You get weekly updates. I personally prefer CM
I run CyanogenMod on my phone. I had a Nexus 4 before too. Cyanogen is very much like stock android but with a few added useful features.
Play store works fine.
How is the battery? and where from?
there was a comment on the thread for the swift that they were rebranded phones, so not original design. was also a comment that Cyanogen would be more power efficient. not sure how accurate either statement is. both swift and storm have same battery though so this 1080 screen will use more power than the swifts 720p i would have thought? just speculation as not got either but considering swift if the price drops nearer the £100 mark.
But the commenter was referring to the Storm and wondering if it is an original design.
Cyanogen might increase the efficiency ever so slightly, but don't expect large numbers.
yeah appreciate your first comment but an exclusive british design would surely be a usp worth shouting about. good marketing tool. as they dont, i assume theyre both rebrands. cheaper than clean sheet design for a startup.
your second point, thanks.
From Amazon. Getting about a day. (Use all day, it is lasting, put on charge at night - sorted)
Quite true, I certainly agree - if it was an original design it would've been paraded around. I'm assuming USP = ultimate selling point? Have never come across that term before.
Cool, thanks!
i thought i was the only one still using a nexus 4!!
Also interested in the storm that's brewing
Am hoping it will get enough dev support for a release of Carbon or Paranoid rather than just straight CM, also root and bootloader unlock are high on my list of wants before I consider pulling the trigger as CWM and Xposed are necessities to me
Paranoid is unlikely these days bud... the developers have been poached and work elsewhere... as a result dev is nigh on non existant
Wileyfox are a british start up company
but part of another company and Chinese owned?
