We used to buy the Lego sets but now we buy these, we find them just as good as "leading brand" and you get so much more for your money! Never had any complaints about them.

Some good sets to be had from aliexpress, usually 60% cheaper than Lego.. Depending on how you feel about clone sets

I'd have moe time for clone sets if the minifigures didn't look like poor playmobil knock-offs!

I agree though, if you're not fussy, there's a load of blocks for your money.

I usually order the mini figures from AliExpress. Got some put away for Xmas for my son.

I got the castle last year for £15 in the sale and it was just about as good as any Lego set. The instructions are clear, the pieces are almost as well made as Lego and fit together well, no pieces missing. Crucially, the castle does look great once it has been built. Well worth it for £20.

It's the rocket for me this year...erm, and I might save one or two pieces for my son too

The freakiest minifigures...

Quality and hardy product, it is built like a fortress.

The price is good. However a word of advice to those who are deciding to ditch Lego in favour of this - Lego is the defacto standard in brick building toys. Their bricks connectivity is a lot better. Their instruction manuals are well engineered something that copycats don't invest time or effort in. Having tried all possible alternative brands, we have learnt over the years, that with Lego there can be no alternative. (Its like using Apple products)

Nevertheless if Lego is out of budget then Wilko bricks are better than megablox or kreo in terms of quality and the types of sets they have.

We had gifted this one at £20 a few months ago and bought the rocket set for ourselves.

Voted hot for the price & Wilko's attempt at quality. And yes I enjoy building sets with my child :-)

I found that structurally it wasn’t as well thought out as Lego is. Also the manual was not as clear as Lego is. Im looking to sell mine.

However, most people wont find that an issue due to the price.

Don't do it.

I bought this the other day, great set for £20.

It does feel a lot cheaper than the "leading brand", for example a lot of pieces would be better if they were solid, instead they're narrow along the sides. Some of the techniques are also a bit flimsy, like you'll just stack some bricks on top of each other and that's that. But, in general very good. The horses and figures it came with weren't the same as the ones in the pic on the Wilko website, much better in fact. You wouldn't want to put together the soldiers along other brick sets but the bodies/legs were easily combined with other Lego spares to give the castle some defenders (shame the helmets don't fit on normals). I might get a Lepin castle next and see if I can combine them into one huger castle...

The castle looks cool but Blox figures are awful. They fall to bits within minutes.

Aliexpress "enlighten" much better than wilko ,wilko blocks just don't seem to stick as well.
We purchased the aircraft carrier from wilko and it ended up like the Titanic by snapping about in the middle due to poor construction plans as the blocks were not arranged in an overlapping configuration .
Avoid the frustration if you want cheap use aliexpress .
Either way don't forget quidco on wilko and aliexpress

Aliexpress "enlighten"

These look great from their ads, going to have to do a lot more research. Would you say Enlighten are better quality or better value than Wilko? Thank you.
