Refreshed 18th Jan (Posted 16th Jan)
January/February is the time to get the indoor jobs out of the way before the weather starts to pick up.

Loads of colours available, I went with "Soft Taupe" which is a sort of "Warm Grey", a neutral tone that goes with anything, also gets good reviews.

The paint itself I find very nice to work with, you'll need a couple of coats (I'm painting straight onto plaster) but once you have the base coat on I find it quickly forms the finished coat, it spreads well and doesn't leave spots or ridges.

Hope it helps someone!

Haha that's this post! What a plonker.

PS It's generally accepted that a repeat of a deal posted a few months ago is OK, as people don't generally sit browsing through deals from that long ago.
I can vouch Wilko’s durable Matt is great to apply, gives a great finish and is easy to wipe. We have no kids but 2 crazy dogs
A few months ago they were half price at £7.50 a tin so we took advantage and did all 4 bedrooms in the shade ‘On Deck’ to offset a taupe feature wallpaper.
The shade is like a very pale taupe/mushroom or ‘greige’ as they are calling it on the reviews in this colour, and I would highly recommend for those upgrades from bog standard ‘magnolia’

Must be colour dependant, or are you sure yours was the durable stuff?

I'm doing the lounge a bit at a time so using a 4" roller and small tray. It's so thick that I use a big serving spoon to put some in the tray but it's so (low viscosity ) that even with the tray at 90° it would take a few minutes to pour out.

Yes because it's matt it hides the unevenness quite well. I went over the worst bits before painting with a detail sander connected to vacuum cleaner hose.

I used a mushroom colour. It was pretty thick but needed a good 2 coats to hide the colour underneath.
On the other hand i used dulux durable which pretty much did the job in one coat.
Both are still good paints. And in a way the wilko durable finished the job flatter, whereas the dulux left tiny clods of paint here and there.

I didn't post that on here, I posted it on another thread . It has obviously been merged with this one. Plus I posted it last night, not 2 hours ago.

This deal makes me overcome with emulsion
£7.50 for 2.5l at wickes
Just done a small bedroom with this paint. 5 litres was perfect with a little left over.

As someone else said I had to do 2 coats, it wasn't thin as such, but left small specs of unpainted areas.

It creates a "latexish" sort of layer. So if using masking tape make sure to remove while the paint is still drying.

Wilko’s durable Matt close up finish
Shade ‘On Deck’36854623-jZCdt.jpg
Love that colour AnitaBlaggit!
I have painted a few rooms in our house with this stuff. Its really good for the money!
I have just finished fixing a room I painted with this paint, it was so think and would always crack when the second coat went on - absolute nightmare! I have now used Wilko's silk paint (which I have been using for years) with zero issues! Your experience may differ to mine but I won't be using this paint again
I have used Dulux paint for years and is now so bad I refuse to pay what they want for that Crap, I have always had to use two coats even though some Dulux stuff was 1 coat BS, someone else said this is good stuff, will give it a try.

A good test is if you find a mark use a baby wipe to get it off, if it takes the paint off it's rubbish.........

Add some water to it as any paint goes on too think it will crack, and a second coat will just make it worse, would fill them cracks in the plaster though..........
Anyone know if this is just online or is it instore too ?
7.5 in chemsley wood asda!
Any paint for concrete? We want to paint some games for kids in the back garden on the concrete, without any fear that it will be washed away by rain. Thank you !
The worst durable emulsion we had the misfortune of using in our renovation. Peels off in layers at the slightest bit of contact. Less durable than standard emulsion!

In-store but they may not have your colour, I got samples in-store then got 12 cabs delivered for cost + £4. Not worth farting about for that price.

bit off topic but what paint did you use on your doors? (Brand? Gloss? Satinwood?) As I'm having a bit of bother with my hall doors and getting a finish that looks nice.
Goes back up to £15 when I add it to the basket and the checkout button doesn't even work. Will have to check in store tomorrow.
