Because, in moderation, sweets aren't the end of the world. Don't tell me how to parent. I'd rather her teeth fall out and she actually enjoys her life then her look perfect and have a miserable existence, like a certain someone

I carry a small blow torch I use for creme brulé, heat up the confectionery until it melts, that way I know there are no gaps. Also has a moderate sterilising effect. Failing that, grab a rubber mallet from the store and go to work on it. By weight I would have been in for over £906.57 for the 8 cups. Back of the net.

So is 3 small cups better than a large cup on this deal

Yes. See my comment above

They make a good point. Diabetes numbers are exploding, and a lot of people don't even know they are walking around with it, or are in the pre-diabetic stage. When you say moderation, eating a small amount of sweets is one thing, but then what else is eaten in the day? Pizza? Chips? Burgers?

Does anyone know if Wilko's have millions in their pick n mix? I need to make 10 sweetie cones for a party and am wondering if this deal might be cheaper than buying bags?
I was put off pick n' mix when the security control room at a shopping mall told me they'd seen a store (not sure which one) sweep up the dropped sweets and chuck them back in.

I was never sure if they were totally serious but nevertheless.

I know someone who puts tape around the lid so they can get alot more

"Id rather her teeth fall out and she actually enjoys her life"... Yeah, because she's really gonna enjoy life without any teeth isn't she...

You can or u can get a cup
I've tested both the cup is way better value

That's what we do, but smarties are better space fillers.

Diabetes isn’t cause by eating too much sugar.

Your chances of developing type 2 diabetes can be increased by eating too much in general and been over weight as well asnot exercising enough, but not from eating sugar alone.

Think about it not all over weight people develope diabetes and not all diabetic’s are over weight.

Just about every cinema allow you to take in your own food as long as it’s not hot food. Sweets and drinks(non alcoholic) are fine

There’s been no need to smuggle them in your trousers all the time

All of them allow you to take food in as long as it's not hot food I beleive. Walk in with your big bag of cheap snacks right in the faces of the staff
What happened to half price deals? On that basis is it really a good deal, compared to the past, except the small cups?

Does anyone have measure of the cups please?

The math seems to be
large - 25% off
medium - 33% off
small - 50%off

With the Tesco large cup I got 851g of sweets - excluding the cup - weighed sweets when I got home to show off to the kids what a great pick and mixer I was
I’m amazed how much I can cram into these container...mine are certainly good value...they have a good selection too...I’m retired now and I don’t worry unduly about my knashers lol
Can anyone confirm if this has started please?

You can always try filling two small cups with jelly beans or smarties or anything really loose and non-sticky, then try pouring both into a large cup. And voila, there's your answer. Let us know how you get on

Sugar quickly makes you fat and, as you say, being fat renders you liable to type 2.

Not all smokers get lung cancer (though they all smell!).

No they don’t all get lung cancer, but smoking also causes many other cancers not just lung cancer, but again not every smoker delevopes cancer or cardio vascular disease.

Sugar in moderation isn’t harmful, however cigarette can cause damage to the body even if you smoke very little

We seem to be in complete agreement so I'm not sure why your first response.

Given the amount of sugar hidden in our diets it's surely better not to introduce kids to this rubbish - which was my original point.

And that’s why we disagree slightly I don’t see the harm in letting kids have the odd pick and mix as a treat.

Plus it has the added advantage of building up a stronger immunity since goodness know’s what’s on them after people have had their hands on them.

As far as I know cinemas don't have any official policy. I have been going to our Odeon for years usually with a bag full of food and a drink from McDonald's and the staff have never batted an eye. Unless there is a sign specifically banning it then I say go for it

Sugar doesn't CAUSE Diabetes. Type one can't be caused. And type two can have increased risk through being overweight, but sugar isn't the only thing that makes people overweight. Fatty foods and just plain over eating can.

Personally I don't allow my kids sweets, but that's as I see them aas choking hazards as well as unhealthy. They are aloud the odd bit of chocolate or cake as part as their otherwise very healthy diets though.
If a parent want to give a child a few sweets, that's up to them as long as it's not a daily thing and they are brushing teeth it won't cause any harm.

Appart from hard boiled stuff. Because that's just a choking episode waiting to happen.
But a few jelly babies and white mice aren't going to magic up diabetes and you clearly have no education on the subject.

Policy of the big three

Vue

myvue.com/leg…ons

Legal, see (12).

Cineworld

cineworld.co.uk/ter…ema

Terms of entry, see (2.2).

Odeon

Don't appear to have a written policy in place like the above that I can see, however they've responded on twitter in the past confirming the same arrangements as above cinemas.

Nothing hot or alcoholic, anything else is fine.
