Bought a dark colour Wilko paint to do one wall and to cover over a cream colour two weeks ago as they didnt have the Dulux one we wanted, it took 7 coats to cover the light wall, never again. Cheap yes but not cheap in terms of time, get a big tin of Dulux and save yourself the grief.

68 reviews with an average of 4.8 say otherwise. It was probably user error in your case.

Yeah certainly only been painting for 30 odd years and had no issues with a lighter coloured Dulux on the other three walls which only needed one coat on the over the same colour. White may ok as I said only used a colour one and it was hopeless.

JONSTONE'S COVAPLUS VINYL MATT

A bit more expensive but much better coverage. Probably it will work out at similar price per square and it will be much better finish and save you some time painting. Hopefully it will make sense
