ok, it's not the cheapest, but with screen was in the winter you get what you pay for. this is the only screen wash that has a decent freeze level. will keep on working down to -22 c. unlike every other screen wash i've seen that usually say good to -5 to -10c at best. and seen as i've seen temps as low as -15c i dont wanna chance my screen wash pipes blocking or splitting due to cr*p screen wash. i'd rather spend £3 rather than £'s replacing broken pipes on my car due to cheap screen wash that froze.

whats the halfords stuff say it will freeze at?
very valid point that most miss when buying screen wash solution!

most cheap stuff is only good down to -5 at best - in fact most cheap screen wash does not even specify the freezing point!

Can't remember the price of the 5L bottles in Lidl but similar price IIRC and that's good down to -30 (after all it is German imported stiff)

so good deal and good price for those who want screen wash that does work in today's temperatures

don't mind using the cheap stuff for 8 months of the year. but from november til atleast the end of feb i want something i know that aint gonna freeze. cann't beleive how many people don't check the freezing point of the screen wash they use. would they use anti freeze in their engines that froze at -5c lol

Never had it happen, even when I was living in Switzerland.

If anything. I'd keep a small amount in the tank and keep the screenwash at room temp and top up daily. Impractical perhaps, but cheaper option.

They aren't comparable. The Halfords screenwash is "Ready to use" meaning it has been diluted down to work to -5C. The Wilko's stuff is concentrate, meaning if you choose to use it neat, it will work down to -22C. If you choose to dilute it, e.g. at a ratio of 4:1, then you can get the same performance as the halfords stuff, but you'll have 10L of it for £3. Hence, a great deal, I picked some up last weekend.
I buy prestone screenwash, it has built in de icer, so no nasty ice scrapng in the morning, £4.99 for 5 litres from asda.....
A good deal, thanks for the post.
Lidl stuff goes to -60 , yeah OTT for this country but once watered down makes 20ltrs at -10.
I have a can of 'Car Plan Four seasons' screenwash stored outside forming ice while my max-min thermometer is reading -4C. Needless to say it makes no specific temperature claims, and surprise surprise my washers are frozen.
