Thirty-five years after this merry movie charmed audiences with a colourful mix of song, humour and life lessons, the Candy Man still wields magic, especially now in a vibrant new print with a soundtrack in true stereo.

From the classic Roald Dahl story comes a lip-smacking delight with jolly tunes, among them The Candy Man and Pure Imagination. With a golden ticket young Charlie Bucket (Peter Ostrum) wins a tour of the factory of wily mogul Wonka (Gene Wilder) and run by his Oompa-Loompa crew. There Charlie, his Grandpa Joe (Jack Albertson) and others discover a kind heart is a finer possession than a sweet tooth. Don't let the tour leave without you!

Battle On!
I'll die inside a little if Charlie and the Choclate Factory (2005) gets more heat than this

Cheers, loved this as a kid, watched it on VHS my Nan had taped off the TV every weekend. My kids love it too, will have to invest. Hot

they were thinking of making the film which more accurately interprets Dahls vision. It's well documented he disliked the original.

That said, the original is an all time great and belongs in everyones collection, young and old.

I agree. I watched this as a child but preferred the remake as it was more accurate to the book and focused more on Charlie's story rather than Willy's like they did in the original. Although, I didn't like Depp's Willy. IMO the 2005 film got most of the story right but the original got Willy Wonka right

I know lots of people who would.

Yes I am childish X)

I loved the original film, I also loved the book but I hated the newer film. Even if it was supposed to be more accurate to the book, I thought it was poorly done.
The fact I cant stand Tim Burton's golden boy Johnny Depp didn't help matters.

For kids and adults alike, its got to be the earlier Gene Wilder version... Heat added for a great blu-ray find

Great film! Good spot!

I still have this and The Witches as a double feature VHS...classics!

How did I miss that? I just turned 19 a week ago and I'm becoming more mature. This sucks!
