I'm going to the US Open in New York this year!

Cool story, bro. Not sure what that adds to this post, but extremely impressive none-the-less.

Question for anyone who has applied has anyone had much success with getting court 3 tickets?

I'm going to the US Open in New York this year! so not overly concerned on going on center court so want to give court 3 a try. Anyone had success with court 3?

Also I went twice to Wimbledon last year the Saturday and middle Sunday had a great time at both so it is possible to get tickets!
thanks for the reminder

Was mainly to ask how easy it is to get court 3 tickets as I'm not fussed about going on center court.

:-) good question and one that will be asked many times over the next 2 weeks.

The easiest way to descrive it is that Reserved are always in the back of the court , normally the back 4 rows of so and there are a lot more (but still not many) available.

Returns are tickets that a coach / LTA couldnt use or one that someone has tried to re sell outside of Wimbledons strick policies. These tickets could be anywhere in the court , either near the back but normally near the middle.

So Returns are a better bet, but reserved are more likely.
It's possible to get these but as per you just have to get super lucky.

I have been 8 times over the past 3 years so it is possible but chances are slim. Got to be in it to win it.

So impressive.
I went several times (Central once and mostly on the other courts, from friend who knows some people who always have some spare tickets) and as soon as I seat in the chair, I can't stay awake. I find it really tiring and boring. If you don't get a ticket, it's not a big deal. It looks much better on the telly. Although, if you've never been there, it's good if you can get a ticket just to experience it.
Am lucky enough to get tickets as needed (Women's final last year)

Also worth heading over in the evenings for returns as the atmosphere is always wonderful.

I could say the same about golf, cricket and snooker but some people love it and want to go.

This is the same.

Does this imply only the back four rows are ever designated to the public an everything else in the first instance, is assigned to coaches lta etc etc?

No it doesn't imply that
There is a totally separate public ballot

Yes got a court 3 return ticket for Monday!

Happy days!
Ah, I was going for Centre Court
no luck today centre court returns went available around 2 seconds past but nothing, anyone got centre court?
The window didn't even change for me to attempt to get any, so nope, no luck here. Not particularly great if the window doesn't change at all!
centre court never went on sale
I tried centre; as above though, the screen didn't change. Never done it before so was trying to work out what to do. Had a go with court 3 after although I realise it was pointless.

Return tickets are much harder to get - I have never got a return for centre.

Reserved tickets are easier so don't worry and try again tomorrow.

Is this the page everyone else got after 12? This means tickets have been made available?

http://oi67.tinypic.com/259ddv4.jpg
it wasn't that they were hard to get...
They just never went on sale (for centre court), normally you get through and get no results... but this time it never even put them on sale
The screen changed at around 12:20 for me - so 20 minutes after they were supposed to go on sale. No idea when it actually changed between 12:15-12:20 as I stopped refreshing, so obviously didn't have a chance today
centre on now
its working now... but a bit late.... (never showed up at 12)
So what am I supposed to have done; just continually refreshed and searched until some become visible to me?

Refreshed searched and hope something comes up.

There is no set amount of return ticket so it is very hard to get them, try tomorrow.

Also it is never guaranteed your going to get a ticket.

Thanks. I realise it's unlikely but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing any special tricks.
Can't they put this on sky sports?

I found that IE did that but I changed browsers and had more luck but still didnt get any. The captcha killed me and the more I then retried to get tickets, the more captchas in a row it wanted me to complete.
cheers got some centre for tomorrow. Right up at the back! but not complaining, avoids the queue

Excellent. Any seat is a good seat

Can I ask a few questions to help the rest of us?

Which browser did you use and did you get a captcha at all or did it go straight through?

I'm also guessing you refreshed straight at 9?
