I Found these on the shelf at my local Poundland store in Gateshead.
A handy pocket sized gadget to pop into your bag as an emergency mobile phone charger when travelling - no need to rely on backup batteries or mains. Will fit Nokia (they've had them in stock previously with Samsung adaptors).

Here's the information from the packaging:-

* 3 minutes of winding gives 2-8 minutes of phone power
* 2 phone adaptors included for most mobile phone brands
* LED light shows when charging

great

Was looking for a decently priced one of these for ages. Finally got one free from the 3 accessories mess a while back. Very useful if you don't have a car charger / for camping/festivals.

Cute. The two adaptors in that bubble pack look like Nokia only, however. Would buy one for the missus, but I cannot see her cranking that thing for an hour, which is what she would need for one of her short calls.

It was obviosly going to be £1.

This deal must be a wind up.

bargain!

thats a nice pic there 'wednesday' ^

I've used those 50p Nokia chargers that work off of a PP3 9V battery.. these messed up my phone such that I had to ship it to Nokia Care for repair. Not sure how reliable these things are, but from previous experience with chargers that aren't using mains input, just be careful.

Hi Polak - thanks for the feedback. Just to put your mind at rest I've tested this little gadget on my Nokia 6021 at it works fine.

I also did a few checks on it before use. It gives out a maximum of 6.5 volts DC while winding at full speed (centre pin positive). However it's meant to be used after 3 minutes winding and at rest - then it only gives out about half that. My Nokia charger is rated at 5 Volts DC but actually gives out 6.6 Volts DC. Hope this helps

Hi these are all well and good, but require a lot of effort. My right arm has not ached this much since I was a adolescent lad without a girlfriend!!! At least with this you won't damage your eye sight too :-D

does someone fancy getting me one and sending it to me not got a poundland close.

Why has this been expired? - they're still available in poundland as regular stock.
