sadly a cold from me, these windows 7 deals are being discussed in the windows thread already, and have been for weeks.. this although a cracking price isnt the cheapest avaialable (microsoft store with 15% quidco or amazon at £45 seem to be) also the vouchers for these companies are not reliable.. they may work but you could be contacted and asked to pay the voucher back as you shouldnt have them

The other thread has expired, this is still available and as others are selling out its a good alternative.

There is also the intrest free option here if you cant afford to shell out elsewhere , and if you want to use discounts then its even cheaper(£19 using £30 of code)

Its about choice at the end of the day

Voted cold owing to Littlewoods VERY shady business practicies with respect to vouchers (namely the 'we can claw money back at any point we feel like it for more-or-less any reason even after you've received the goods' part of their T&C's). Is it likely you'll get done for using them? Probably not but why support a company with your money that operates in this fashion?

amazon no longer seem to be taking orders when I looked this morning. Currys still taking orders at £45 for home edition as well (£90 for pro).

When they can put an operating system out and I know it will last then I will buy. This is Microsofts way of making more money, why dont they just get Vista working properly first??

im with microsoft, vista was a huge floop and should be forgotten! A friend of mine is trying windows 7 at the moment and says its by far better then vista.

it looks like they've bumped the price up to £79.99 on amazon and MS store now

The MS store only have it at £79.99 though...

what is the £30 off code? Can't see it anywhere in the vouchers section - is it for new or existing customers?

OOh it heated up a little, someone loves me LOL! !!!!

I have thought long and hard about whether to upgrade from Vista or not. And I don't think I'll bother. I feel a bit let down with Microsoft giving up on Vista so soon. And I don't want to do a clean install of a new OS on an existing PC. I'll wait until the bugs are ironed out and pick it up on my next PC in a year or so.

Windows 7 is Vista with the bugs mostly ironed out.

Couldn't agree more. That's why it's like the emperor's new clothes. It does the same thing as XP and Vista. But it's shiny and new. And people will pay for that. Can you imagine day of release? Billions of people all uninstalled their OSs and can't verify Win 7. Lots of metal boxes up and down the country. Mwhahahahaha.

You don't have to validate on the day you install it, you get about 3 days.

Can anyone advise me if this is possible (and legit) ?

My desktop has Vista Home Premium installed (upgrade version) and I'm thinking of getting Windows 7 to replace it. My laptop has XP on it and I'd like to transfer Vista over to that although Vista is currently activated on the desktop. Can I do that ?

Unless you own retail licences for bothm, it's not legit

You might be able to, but on an OEM licence it's highly unlikely to activate, wasting a lot of time

Thanks.
My Vista is retail but XP on the laptop was pre installed.
I installed Vista on this machine using the fresh install method which worked fine, just wondered if I could do the same on the laptop and activate it ?

I think I've read somewhere that Windows 7 needs to be a fresh install so perhaps it's not an upgrade version ?

Certainly cheaper than the 40 quid I had already paid to Argos
So why cold, is it because people don't trust Addition Direct to honour the codes?

Original Poster

Yeah porbably, but if you are a genuine new customer or have been sent a code there is no problem

Wouldn't trust the codes (but they're worth a go obv). Cheapest available at the mo I believe so hot from me.

+9.

Ordered 2 copies. Hot........

Had confirmation of my order by phone today and includes the discount code.

I am happy. :-D

Its still chilly in here tho !

Well Im voting hot deano. Like you say £30 quid more or sold out everywhere else. For those that dont like the codes, just dont use them... Still get quidco.

Original Poster

LOL its got a little bit warmer

H & R. Cheers. I know this chilly due to the history of codes and what this group tried to pull.

The missus is a new customer so have gone for this with a £20 off code. Missed the boat with the other deals. Have only recently installed the RC and it looks pretty nifty. (for an XP user)

Sold out now.
