QUESTION:
Online banking: with or without VPN?

I got pureVPN 5 years for the same price and someone told me it is not safe for online banking...
Edited by: "ovisan" 23rd Jan
Less than half this price in November but, since time machines aren't widely available, not voting either way. I've found Windscribe to be great btw, seen lots of people complaining about speeds but that hasn't been my experience. Works well for Netflix, but that feature is in beta and isn't always available - unavailable for around 10 days since November.

QUESTION:Online banking: with or without VPN?

Either, but I would only use a safe mode browser, like Avast SafeZone with Banking mode turned on, supposed to disable any background code running that you're not aware of, disallow popups, popunders, etc.
I generally leave my vpn on.
And it can depend on what other tabs you have open in your browser when you go to log on to your bank site, then a vpn could help with privacy.
Anyway, I've tried the free 60gb-a-month Windscribe, but my £18 lifetime VPN Unlimited just feels better in use.
Is the paid subscription service any faster than the free one?

I'm subscribed since December and it works quite well to be fair. Never had an issue. And for this price it's totally worth it.
Used to be subscribed to NordVPN, this is quite faster than NordVPN to be fair.
Not sure what's with the cold votes, watching Netflix via Windscribe at the moment and works great. Must be the competition bombing this thread LOL

Wouldn't worry about it, VPN's are really a leap of faith. Sounds like a good deal mate.
Bought this when half price, but be warned, this is as slow as using an old 36k modem...
Only worth it for those with the patience of a Saint

I'm using the New York server at the moment and it's blazing fast, I was using NordVPN before and this is much faster to be fair.
thanks for this, been looking for a cheap VPN. You can get 40% off with the code VPNSD40. Takes it down to just under £30

Can this get added to the post

don't you use trusteer rapport download for banking? banks usually ask you to and will occasionally ask you to download it, puts a little greyed out ;apport' icon in the address window and allows you to add any sensitive sites.and then it changes to green, which indicates it's secure.

tbh, it gets complicated when there are so many alternatives overlapping each other... what with window defender, my bitdefender total, trusteer, malwearbytes and windscribe... all these firewalls and anti virus apps... am pretty sure they all cancel each other out and still make me vulnerable!

It's more likely to raise a red flag with your bank if you're signing in from random/vpn IP's. Bigger worries for you... torrentfreak.com/pur…09/

If you enjoy getting 2% of your actual broadband speed, this is for you.

I get 60gb free a month and at the speeds I get, I reckon it's be impossible to use!

Probably cold because you could get 3 year subscription for £13 and unlimited for £28 at Christmas. I signed up then and have been very pleased with it but at nearly £50 it's not such a good deal for something that was nearly half this price.

Signed up at Christmas and this has (slightly) increased my broadband speeds. I assume this is because my provider would otherwise do traffic "shaping" which doesn't work through a VPN.
