I've gone off the Iceland red so I guess I will maybe try this. I'd rather be spending £3.50 - £4 on a decent red though after recently trying some through Virgin Wine Club.
Any ideas folk?

Personal taste of course but I like the Australian Cimarosa reds from Lidl (Shiraz/Merlot/Cab Sauvignon). They're the ones with the yellow labels. I will be stocking up when they are on offer again but would pay full price if I ran out before then.

Or a decent wine selling at a loss (loss leader) maybe...

Rubbish. They could be a 'loss leader' and be prepared for that just to bring in the custom. I've had this wine and it is absolutely fine.

Interesting to see the available locations, I hadn't noticed that feature on the site before.
More, how it was sourced from Lidl ?

They seem to be selling Pinot Noir too ("Nationally") the same week ?
hotukdeals.com/dea…992

Maybe best using Lidl site & setting your store for offers there ?

Thanks

Yes it's odd maybe it varies between different parts of the country - leaflet from Berks location shows the Merlot

I’m not s big wine drinker but my brother & his friends drink this & they spend silly money on red wine introduced me to this & it’s really nice IMO

Sounds good will give it a try! Our "go to" cheap wine is Aldi's Kooliburra Shiraz (£3.99)

I’ve had many bottles of this and I couldn’t agree more. Threads like this attract amateur wine snobs like bees to honey. Drink the wine that you enjoy the most. If that’s £12, fine, if that’s £3, fine.
How come it says Chilean Pinot Noir on the app? Or am I looking in the wrong place

Iceland do some great wines, especially when they are on clearance at genuine half price!
Will do for the sister in law, but then she's Scottish and would happily drink the contents of a tramps catheter.
You can indeed buy very drinkable wines for less than £10 quid a bottle.

Clearly it's a lost leader and who cares when you're chugging it in the local park

Clearly it's not a drink for special occasions with a expensive dinner it's more chug or drink with a microwave meal in a one bedroom Flat

Well I never knew a website like Wotwine existed so I've learned something new thanks. Useful when I'm stood in the wine aisle at Aldi next!

Not sure saying something tastes bad makes you a snob, but OK.

But strange, when I scan it it comes up as the 2017 one, but the label says 2018.

Duty is calculated on a litre (bottle is 750ml)

I’m well aware. The cost is adjusted to account for that.

I stand corrected - need my reading glasses
Thanks for all the help. I find the day after a bottle of red hard going at the moment (lacking sleep) but I'll keep an eye on my local Lidl.

Mum and I are going to have to split the cost of a shop to use a £30-40 voucher or two this week. Funny with 4 kitchens to feed (ok only 5 people) we still find it hard to spend £40 in a Lidl. If only there was an Aldi anywhere nearby life would be golden lol.

Actually it's good I've been buying it for a while at this price bargain
