Really good and lovely looking game. Don’t know why Zatu on eBay is so much cheaper than their website.

Does the old version and new version have different EAN numbers? How can we tell from that listing? They don't even mention any Swift pack on their website...?

Incredible game. The bird artwork is exceptional (170 cards!) and it is a very good fast-paced but tactical game. I have nothing but glowing things to say about it.

When did that new version come out? Surely all old copies would have shifted by now?

Amazon started selling it 21/10/19 according to their website.

Looking online, most retailers make it clear when it includes the Swift Starter pack... Usually states "2nd Edition" or "Includes Swift Starter Pack" - I don't think we can assume this comes with it as they purposely haven't put a picture of the back of it
The 1st edition sold out very quickly so I'd imagine this is 2nd edition. I'll ask them. Great price, have some heat
A great game, expansion is really good as well, adds loads of European birds without adding loads of new complexity.
Great price but I’ve had terrible experience with Zatu Games

Orders ‘lost’ in the post, payment taken for items that they later claimed was out of stock, really poor response times to issues. I just avoid them now.

Zatu have been excellent in my experience.

The latest edition will have the Swift starter pack in it with the extra cards
A lot of people seem awfully concerned about the swift starter pack. Unless you are basically new to modern board gaming it will have a negligible impact on your experience (even if you are new there's some great tutorials on YT for this one). For £42 you're getting a game with excellent design and excellent components, 10 extra cards isn't worth worrying about imo.

Source: My copy doesn't have it, didn't even know it existed until seeing this thread, having looked up what you get I am certain it wouldn't have made any real difference to the many games I've played so far.

Same - played numerous times and the swift cards really aren’t needed
I've had a message from them saying to their knowledge, this does not have the Swift starter pack.

?? They've confirmed it's the latest edition. Latest edition has this - there are only 2 editions lol - the old one and the new one. Sounds like whoever you spoke with doesn't know what the latest edition comes with. This will definitely have the swift starter pack included. Also if you look at their actual website, they only have one version for sale. Pic 3 on that item shows the swift starter pack included (top right dark blue part).

I love board games but this looks way too girly and expensive for me.

Draughts is best.
Perhaps Zatu have some stock of both editions.

I'm inclined to agree with @Battenburg that the starter pack isn't worth worrying about... however, I also know how much board game collectors love extra stuff no matter how small or insignificant!

I've been temped to buy this on a few occasions but I know it would gather dust if I did. My regular group mostly want a 'fight' of some kind so it's aggresively competitive games or co-ops against a common enemy. Good post, OP; warmed up.

I don't know what the swift starter pack is but my guess is that people want to have it to introduce the game to other new players who aren't hobby board gamers and don't own the game. After all, it has been selling a lot because it is crossing over to people new to hobby board gaming.

I think that the components and art are superb for the price. The theme launched it straight to the top of my most anticipated games just over a year ago. I'm less enamoured with the game design. I'll play it, but it has yet to wow me.

Girly? Please tell me you aren't serious. In what way is ornithology effeminate? Nothing in the presentation or artwork is 'girly'.
Received mine - can confirm it's the latest edition with free Swift starter pack

Also, price has gone up to £55.99 now...

Recieved mine also includes the swift pack so very happy. 🔥🔥🔥 thanks for the tip!
