£8000 wow thats expensive
Thxs ordered two
No 1.4 isn't needed for 3D an hdmi cable will carry a 3D signal regardless. Just more jargon to make you spend more.

I think you may be incorrect with that statement ?

3D

The 1.4 version of the specification defines common 3D formats and resolutions for HDMI-enabled devices, enabling 3D gaming and other 3D video applications. The specification standardizes the input/output portion of the home 3D system, facilitating 3D resolutions up to dual-stream 1080p.

Dont believe everything you read - 1.3 carries 3D perfectly

As for these Cables - can take around 4 seconds for the image to get to your tele from cold - very annoying, i used mine for 10 minutes before ordering new cables.

Except its not perfect is it ?? .....I agree a 1.3 cable WILL do 3D but only at 1080i ....if you want 1080P then you'll need a 1.4 cable.

Depends how picky you are ...:)

So why would they bring out a 1.4 at the same price as a 1.3 if it wasn't different? It's for 3D.

4seconds? Oh no
THANKS HEAT ADDED
hdmi cables are all the same, they send a digital signal whether its 1.3 1.4 or whatever, gold connections dont make a difference its a digital signal if theres any kind of fault it wont work at all, a friend payed £30 for some proper gold plated sky ones and my 99p ones from the pond shop did the same job
Cold because it's not a solid gold connector.
1.4 if I am right carries Ethernet where the 1.3 does do 3D and HD.

nice one hopefully people might understand it eventually and stop believing what the people making the profits are saying!!!
They are not all the same, yes they work same but build quality can be very different, i have had some just fall apart, but you shouldnt have to spend more than £5 on decent ones

not true. can't do 3d at 1080p with 1.3, just get huge amounts of crosstalk and it won't work properly.

My eyes hurt.

4 seconds ? Speed of electromagnetic wave....for the distance we are talking, its the speed of light-3%. distance traveled...say 2 metres. so thats about 1/150,00,000th of a second. Makes your 4 second suggestion about eleventy billion percent incorrect sir.

By the looks of things this deal has got to 400+ degrees for something not even worth the 98p they are asking. This does happen a lot on HUKD, if at first glance something appears to be a lot cheaper than what people are used to paying. Its voted hot whether its crap or not. Having said that the picture is very misleading too, as in the lead will almost certainly not look like that, dare i say waheed went for the most flattering image out the bunch uploaded by a "customer" in 2008, more recent images (this month) show cables of a much lower quality.

I would still go for a 1.4 one for the same price, and a bit longer.

I got a 2m 1.4 version with Ethernet too for 99p from the deal a few days ago from Amazon, and another 2m 1.4 one from ebay the same day. Received them both, they look and feel very good quality.

Worth looking around for better offers.

EDIT: they are still available, ebay item 251237676338 and 160983725965

Half way down the page shows what version does what, just to clear things up.

There's no such thing as a 1.3/1.4 cable! The labeling was removed in January last year, the use of versions relate to the HDMI Spec and not cables, all cables since last year have to be (Or should be) labelled:

Standard HDMI Cable
Standard HDMI Cable with Ethernet
Standard Automotive HDMI Cable
High Speed HDMI Cable
High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet

Anything that's carries 1.3/1.4 etc....is old stock, sellers not knowing what they're talking about, ignorance, bullsh*t or all of the above....

Q: What kind of cable will I need to use for 3D?A: 3D video requires … Q: What kind of cable will I need to use for 3D?A: 3D video requires substantial data throughput, so you’ll want to use a High Speed HDMI cable (with or without Ethernet).

Use a High Speed cable if you have higher-resolution display (e.g. 1080p). High Speed cables can deliver all video content currently defined for the HDMI standard (i.e. more than two 1080p/60 video streams, including 3D).

A High Speed Cable will carry a 4K signal so 1080p is no problem.

hdmi.org/man…spx

The only thing gold plating does on cables is reduce oxydisation, nothing else...

Sometimes problems occur when trying to connect equipment with different specs (Say an older AV Receiver with 1.2 and a BD Player with 1.4) just to add, so something to consider if you have any issues.

I just have an hdmi cable from pound streacher and it does 3d full hd. All the cables are the same. It works, or it doesn't.
Monster cable are better, I noticed picture improvement when I compared them
