I bought a similar one, though it works OK but has a major flaw, you can't turn of this start up sound when it's turned on. Pretty useless as I want to use it when baby is sleeping
Reviews were made in return to receive the item for free.
Video door bells have a large security hole too, just check out the symbiotic relationship between the Ring video doorbell and Amazon and "friends". Here is one such story - cnet.com/fea…ls/
Add your choice of maximum 128GB microsd card to the integral microsd card slot for "Local Storage: Support Micro SD inserted 128GB card, support 24 hours video or video alarm".
Most if not all of these low-cost security cameras are linked to some form of cloud hosting service, the first month is usually free, after that you rely on what's stored on the memory card, or pay a subscription.
Broadly speaking (and it may or may not apply to this individual model) these can be "inconsistently reliable" so if you just want to check if the lights were on at some point, or if someone has parked a car outside these are absolutely fine.
Perhaps I wouldn't be quite so keen on anything which was safety critical ie babies or adults needing constant supervision
It's 14 quid, what's not to like - if you need absolutely rock solid reliability, then buy into something with a service level agreement, but expect to pay a lot more.
Not great for security as the burglar could simply take the memory card out and you'd have no history.
How would it be “unsafe” for someone to see a baby fast asleep in bed? I’m not sure I get it
Privacy. Would you want somebody else watching your child. That’s what I mean. I heard a lot about the concerns so wanting some advice on people who have these.
No, but you're assuming that's a common theme - frankly, the ability for me to watch my child at any time from any location outweights the risk of some mythical hacker doing it and finding value in it. The only other option is private or offline CCTV and that is another whole headache in itself.
Showing as "In stock" for me a few seconds prior to this post.
CHeers...
Alternatively just check on them by walking the 10ft to the bedroom?? You know like billions do every day.
Good your latest comment was deleted. It is up to him how he keeps an eye on his children. Maybe his mobility is limited, have you ever thought of this?
I live in a 3 storey house, kitchen downstairs, small kids on the upper floor. They fight eachother every second, all I can hear is screaming and crying. If I have up and down the stairs at every 30 seconds, the meal will never be ready.
We also live in a 3 storey house, having just had an extension and the baby monitor signal drops from time-to-time due to the wall thickness. He didn't answer my question about how I monitor the family when I work late but that's often what narrow-minded people do - pass judgement on others.
My kids are in bed by the way and I can assure you my kids get all the attention they need. As much as I can. Again judgemental, never crossed your mind some families are single parents and they cannot be every single second with their kids. Lack of technology had tragic consequences in my family by the way.
Yes, I will look why my 4 years old was fighting with his 2 year old brother. They were not even fighting they were playing, the youngest laying on his back and his brother putting the cushion on his face and sitting on it, this is just an example.
I am not saying you are wrong, I am saying that perhaps before calling others lazy, you should think twice.
Don't rise to it, do you really want to get into an argument about how you parent your children with someone who jumps to conclusions and judges you like that. You're evidently far too nice
Thanks! I just don't get it what people do in their house and why are afraid the government, the Chinese, the Russians keeping an eye on them. I lived in communism, where the government knew every single move. Nobody was bothered. I agree with you, if technology makes your life easier, why now.
About him being judgemental, I was the same. And I've learnt it the hard way. Due to the nature of my job too. You never know others circumstances.
I'm not bothered about him or his judgements - ten a penny. There are people that think there is too much surveillance and that Alexa and Siri listen into you as do your phone, you can't avoid it these days. You can take reasonable precaution though, and I don't have a big online footprint on social media for that reason, but cameras like this, Yi cameras and any other cloud cameras have had a huge and positive impact on peoples' lives. The cloud cameras all send data to a central cloud, rather than older IP cameras which are fiddly and difficult to operate - whether that cloud is in China, America, Europe, you are still trusting a third-party to an extent in exchange for ease of use. I use the Yi cameras because they take less than 2 minutes to setup and have good image quality - I have 4 in my office as well as a number of thermal and humidity sensors, these all send data back to China...
Description says "360eyes" smart device app .
Thanks mate. I was searching name on the camera lol
No probs. It should be mentioned on the microscopic Chinglish user manual sheet that is bundled with the cam.
