for the benefit of anybody who may be interested , i bought one over a year ago, works well n continues to do so.... i think it's great value. just getting in before all the knockers start.....

I don't think they make any mice with balls anymore.

Is this good for use as a regular desktop mouse for long periods?

Its difficult to find a boy mouse these days....

You can still find them, I think in Asda. Cost about £3 and support PS/2 as well as USB.

Don't know why. Can't imagine there's any advantage to a ball mouse.
