Home wireless CCTV systems are a nightmare, you get lots of disconnections. You cant rely of the system recording footage when you are out, you end up recording nothing due to the cameras loosing wifi connection.

Its always best to get wired when it comes to CCTV, the wired systems can still connect to your home router for phone viewing when you are out and about.

Worked for me, but forgot to use the code in all the excitement

Me too

ordered thanks. paid extra couple of quid for their shipping insurance

A good price if you need wireless, but I think the £30 wired camera offer which has expired was a better bet overall. The recorder would accept a range of cameras, and would record from a wireless ip camera as well.

Ah ok thanks, I just assumed with it being wireless it was just case of placing the cameras as and where, and then syncing up with the main unit.

The term wireless is used "loosely" in electronics and gadgets. Example being wireless surround speakers usually require wires for power, or even wires to a box at the back of the room.

Don't forget quidco!

Ordered, thanks

With CCTV systems getting so cheap and affordable, hopefully crime rate will fall and more criminals would be detered / convicted..

I quite agree. That said not everyone has the option of installing long cable runs through out their property. Assuming the cameras on this have an Ethernet connection you always have the option of using a switch or old router and hooking these up wired with some cheap passive POE injectors so you can send power down the Ethernet cable.

What is the power supply on these cameras, are the mains or battery?

I ordered it. If it sucks I'll get a wired one.

Ordered one thanks OP-heat added. Stupid question perhaps but how difficult is it to fit a hard drive in one of these and where is the best/cheapest place to source one ......or can you use an old computer hard drive?

Pretty sure it would be mains powered as battery would not last at all.

Also don't think you can expect someone to go climb a ladder to go and change the battery on a camera high up.

I bought one as a spare but will not need that really so if anyone interested, just inbox me pls.
