If you can find it cheaper, please post!

Do you know what this is? Its just to use your 360 pad on a pc..

Original Poster

Yes, a WIRELESS pad

Just that the title says "for xbox 360", sounds a little confusing

*great price by the way*

Changed DX's description for clarity, thanks

So what you'd need to use an Xbox360 wireless controller on your PC is one of these and said controller?

Original Poster

yep, they work like a charm

I have one of these, its great.
you can connect 4 separate wireless controllers to pc, and even use the mic attachment on them.
Plus, if you ever need to use just the mic / headset, that part of the controller pops up in recording devices in windows, perfect for VOIP apps etc.

Correct. I'm tempted to get one of these for when Fable 3 is out.

Actually, is this an Official Xbox one?

I don't think DX sells official anything!

Oh okay, thanks. I've never shopped at DX before. The reviews on the webpage look positive though!

Original Poster

Yeah, they are usually a very good supplier for cheaper cloned goods

I've never been disappointed by them

microsoft stopped making these. i tried for around 2 months to get one and every shop i went to said MS stopped making them in 2008!

Heat added, bargain price

[quote=foulone]I don't think DX sells official anything![/q]

DX does sell a fair bit of official stuff to be honest, and even then the copycats are normally just as good quality in my experience, is usually with you in 1 week not 2 aswell!

Heat added .. came through as £9.14 on PayPal...

Cheers!

These are great. I connect 4 xbox controllers to my laptop and they work perfectly for console emulators.
I had a cheeky nostalgic game of Mario Kart 64.

Bought one, never used it. Waste of time - good price though.

A copy and paste of my 2007 Amazon review.

If the drivers get fixed this is a 5 star product, however for the moment it just gathers dust in my drawer...... Here is why.

Every time i want to use it i have to unplug ALL my usb devices, boot my pc, train the pad before plugging in my usb stuff *.

Despite the promise of Force Feedback support with the wireless racing wheel "soon" after launch, 8 months** on and its still not been sorted.

Pad wise, when it works, it works really well, and the usb issue isnt a problem for everyone, so if it works for you then great. It IS a fine product, at the moment ruined by poor drivers.

* Apparently this is becuase it blows the usb power requirements away...... i have had it not work properly on my last 3 PC's. i use a powered hub now and it is ok.

**8 months has now become almost 3.5 years, unacceptable imo.

The genuine microsoft ones were notorious for blowing the internal fuse on the product. I had about 50 come to me for repairs, simple fix though, solder over the fuse :P I wonder if these genuine fakes will have the same issue.

Blowing the fuse on what product? This only connects to the PC. Unless it can blow your controller up through wireless signals.

I'm assuming the fuse on the wireless dongle. Must be pretty poorly made as USB has a limited power draw and shouldn't be subject to surges like a mains.

The ones on eBay for about £6 including the handset are cheaper. I bought one just for the receiver.

I have an official one but I'm sure this'll work just the same. Great product, 360 controller is fantastic and fully supported in all games for windows games, can't do better than this price!

Please PM me a link for one for £6 with a handset, that sounds unbelievable!!!! I cant find one for that price, been trawling ebay - what are you searching for exactly?

I clicked the link to the one I bought back in May for £5.58, which is obviously no longer on the system because it came back with this. Should help. Note the handset is a generic "PC remote control" with buttons to move the mouse pointer around, etc, and it worked out of the box with Ubuntu.

That depends of definition of fine, MS were selling these with the promise of forcefeedback with the wheel in future revision. That never came, therefore in my book the drivers are incomplete.

also, as i said, they do not work on a LOT of onboard usb controllers, be it hardware or drivers (i initially assumed drivers) that is still v poor and something MS do not warn about - or didnt when i purchased.
have not voted hot or cold as the price is around what i paid from amazon

our rabbit ate my 360 wireless receiver from amazon so I got another one

So you are talking about something that doesn't interface wireless Xbox360 controllers with a pc?

I picked up one of these with the controller about 2 months ago for £17.99. I found out about it through here actually.

Hmm... so I couldn't like pop over to Game or someplace like that, pick up an Xbox 360 wireless controller for the PC and use it without getting something like this first?

Is coming up as £9.14 GBP through Paypal...

bought one and i dont even need one

i hate this site

thanks

Could I connect a wireless 360 controller to the USB port with the plug and charge wire?

That would only charge the controller, you cant use it with that cable.

No. THe plug and charge only charges.

Ah ok thanks guys, another purchase on my card thanks to this bloody site then!

dcx_badass

The 360 Wireless controller for PC comes with this.

Thanks... you've just saved me some cash

As I have neither an Xbox360 nor a Windows PC I cannot test it with that configuration. However, I'd be interested to know why it shouldn't work. I've always thought these USB infrared receivers to be overpriced even at £10.
