I was perhaps too hasty in my original post to quote those prices, clearly with a bit more searching some lower priced items are available. Anyway I've realised the error of my ways and punched myself in the goolies to try make myself remember to not be such an idiot but I doubt I'll remember.

I'm eternally sorry for all the trouble and irritation I've caused. Letters are in the post with compensation.

This might be of limited interest but these often sell for about £15-£25 - I got one a while ago and it came with a battery but I suspect CPC might have either a load with dud batteries or they've removed the battery for some reason. The battery is a flat mobile phone type, Nokia BL4C which are easy and cheap to buy for around £3 on the bay. Charges up with a mini (not micro) USB cable, mine came supplied but not sure as this is a clearance item I think.
Interestingly the battery compartment has space for 2 AA batteries but no spring terminals fitted so I wonder if it's possible to modify for AA usage instead.
Anyway, might be useful for some. Free delivery when you spend £6 or more (£5 exc VAT)

Well don't hold back!
Currently they're selling for around £15 and upwards from UK sellers
When I said 'limited interest' I meant that this item is not likely to appeal to that many people as it doesn't come with a battery. Anyway, sorry if this deal irritated you, clearly this has hit a nerve
Here's some examples of stupidly high priced ones
Amazon £43
Ebay £30 upwards
I see none particularly cheap currently and so that's why I posted the deal. Anyway good luck with the ar*se

Edit: the cheapest I see on ebay is £5.99

Seems a better deal But does it come with a battery?
1 x Mini Wireless Keyboard
1 x USB Cable
1 x USB Receiver
This is a fair price if you are ordering something else to get free delivery, but you really are overdoing how much they are elsewhere. As stated, above, 5 quid on ebay and they start at around £7 for a backlit keyboard on Amazon (including battery).

phew, good,
Now everyone affected please give me your postal address or bank details for full compensation
I paid £6.85 from ebay for a backlit one that takes AAA's and the Nokia battery. I use it with the AAA's. Its OK, but sometimes when trying to type it has a bit of a fit and types random things.

Yes we've now established that my deal was sub par at best and at worst, possibly worse than any Beats headphones deals ever posted.

I'm going to buck the trend and say it's a good deal for anyone who has a spare battery - at least with CPC you should get a decent version - I've heard some of the variants you can get cheap off eBay can be flaky.
Good deal from a UK company. I'm sure CPC have the same model as you buy on eBay (they're all an identical shape and design) but got rid of the batteries as they have swollen (common on cheap/older batteries) and/or just didn't want the potential hassle on such a cheap item. I'll probably get it from eBay as I would rather have a battery and possibly a backlight - they're just really useful products for setting up a PC in a pinch but not faffing with wired stuff or for the smart TV.
Worth noting it's not bluetooth and doesn't work with a Fire stick, as I found out when I bought one last year.

Bluetooth ones are available and a similar price on eBay (basically it becomes personal preference). I noticed that too but FWIW, you don't always want Bluetooth, with a 2.4Ghz dongle it's 'plug 'n' play' but Bluetooth needs pairing and that's not always practical if this is your only input device.

I agree though - I would like both connections on one device in an ideal world (the Logitech diNovo does this).

He had a mini-meltdown on another thread because someone mentioned a cheaper price hotukdeals.com/dea…117
Another member on there seems to have a hatred of Allbeauty and accused them of fakery/watered down scents on a few threads (I'm a fragrance hound and said something as I felt the commenter didn't really reply to my questions previously, but it wasn't directed at him - he went a bit bananas).

Anyway, I think he is sensitive (!) and needs to Deal with cold votes/constructive comments without taking it uber-personally. There are people on here who pop up out of the blue just to be blatantly rude, of course, but it's not happening here. Feel a bit bad for him, but maybe a cool down might change perspective.

hmm that doesn't sound too useful. The one listed here seems to have a reasonable range, but it uses the BL4C battery.

Nice bits of kit. Brought one 8 months ago for 6.99 from amazon / charges via USB port with a battery.

Great for its purpose. My retropi system. Only used for setting it though.
These are excellent for raspberries running kodi.
Mine came today, it had the battery with it, plugged in dongle in my android box and working in seconds.
