Anyone tasted this stuff? What's it like?
Don't forget the £7/£9/£12 off vouchers for online orders...

Tesco also has 64p Cadbury Fingers (all varities), not a fan personally of every single Supermarket deal to be posted, weekly ones for the major supermarket makes more sense IMO.

its no bad.

asda also sell this prefer normal semi skimmed myself

Thanks... still learning

I bought this a few times, but stopped after I read the label. My memory might be completely off but I'm sure it says it's not real milk...I unfortunately can't recall the phrase they used.
Anyway, good deal and it did taste ok.

extra 25p off with this voucher too. It's a £1 at ASDA too at the moment.

I really like this milk, It is also £1 in Farmfoods. Sainsbury's do their own version of this as well but its around £1.40

2L in my corner shop is always £1

It's ok.
Shame they don't do it in 4 pint ( 2.272 litres) size for this price.
If you're stuck for cheap milk there's always Iceland for the 4 pint sizes at £1.20

Its ok but its no cravendale now that is nice.

1% milk is just skimmed milk rebranded, just as 2% milk is semi-skimmed. It's an American terminology.

Wiseman are one of the milk buyers that are shafting the farmers for their milk prices - so I wouldn't buy their milk for that reason.

According to the side of my skimmed milk carton. it's 0.2g of fat.

so this 1% stuff is halfway between skimmed and semi skimmed.

I read somewhere that it tastes the same as semi skimmed but with less fat.

Whereas skimmed always tastes a little watery. Not as nice in cornflakes as semi skimmed.

What size is your skimmed milk carton?

Skimmed milk is 0.1% fat, semi is approximately 1.6% and whole milk is 3.6%. The dairies try to process the stuff as close as possible to the minimum legal requirement because the fat (cream/butterfat) they skim out of the raw milk is worth a lot.

Wiseman have a history of being one of the higher payers to farmers.

This product was brought out for those people who wanted skimmed milk but were put off by the 'watery' consistency of conventional skimmed milk.

That's not what they tell me when I do their dairy inspections!

love this stuff...half the fat of semi-skimmed but tastes just as nice!
heat added!

Us farmers are still getting ripped off! paid between 15 - 25 pence per litre!

I used to get my 'one' milk from Saino's but now they have their own version (more watery) they have stopped selling it. So now I go off to Farmfoods for it at a £1 and I get other frozen stuff off them so Saino's loose out on those sales now.

I got told it was like having skimmed milk with the taste of semi. Works for me.

Aren't you farmers getting ripped off everywhere with the big brand supermarket price wars?

That may be so, but it's a hell of a way to travel for a few pints of milk. And there's all the hassle of foreign exchange . . .

Seriously, though - we find 1% milk tastes no different from the usual 2% semi-skimmed. I recommend anyone concerned about their weight / health / cholesterol to try it.

Great - I've bought 500L should last me until Christmas.

Thanks very much. They didn't have any in stock at Tesco yesterday so I bought some from Asda to try it - my other half has already drunk two pints so it must be okay (used to work in a dairy and quite fussy about his milk!). Bought two more cartons from Tesco today - thanks very much.
