It's usually this price when on sale, but I will always post this when I can, because I want everyone to play this game at least once. It has such an immersive world with memorable characters and really good quests, where choices actually matter.

If I didn't convince you, here is a in-depth review:

Become a professional monster slayer and embark on an adventure of epic proportions!
Upon its release, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt became an instant classic, claiming over 250 Game of the Year awards. Now you can enjoy this huge, over 100-hour long, open-world adventure along with both its story-driven expansions worth an extra 50 hours of gameplay. This edition includes all additional content - new weapons, armor, companion outfits, new game mode and side quests.

About the GAME OF THE YEAR
The most awarded game of 2015!
Become a monster slayer for hire and embark on an epic journey to track down the child of prophecy, a living weapon capable of untold destruction.
INCLUDES ALL EXPANSIONS AND ADDITIONAL CONTENT.

Features:

Play as a Highly Trained Monster Slayer for Hire
Trained from early childhood and mutated to have superhuman skills, strength, and reflexes, witchers are a socially ostracized counterbalance to the monster-infested world in which they live.

  • Gruesomely destroy foes as a professional monster hunter armed with a range of upgradeable weapons, mutating potions, and combat magic.
  • Hunt down a wide variety of exotic monsters, from savage beasts prowling mountain passes to cunning supernatural predators lurking in the shadowy back alleys of densely populated cities.
  • Invest your rewards to upgrade your weaponry and buy custom armor, or spend them on horse races, card games, fist fighting and other pleasures life brings.
Track Down the Child of Prophecy in a Morally Ambiguous Fantasy Open World
Built for endless adventure, the massive open world of The Witcher sets new standards in terms of size, depth and complexity.

  • Traverse a fantastical open world: explore forgotten ruins, caves and shipwrecks, trade with merchants and dwarven smiths in cities, and hunt across open plains, amidst mountains and at sea.
  • In a time of war, track down the child of prophecy, a living weapon of great power whose coming was foretold in ancient elven legends.
  • Make choices that go beyond good and evil and face their far-reaching consequences.
Game of the Year EDITION
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition brings together the base game and all the additional content released to date.

  • Includes the Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine expansions, which offer a massive 50 hours of additional storytelling as well as new features and new areas that expand the explorable world by over a third!
  • Affords access to all additional content released so far, including weapons, armor, side quests, game modes and new GWENT cards!
  • Features all technical and visual updates as well as a new user interface completely redesigned on the basis of feedback from members of the Witcher Community.

Just doing my good deed for the day.

And a good deed it is, I’m playing the Steam version now having completed the base game on the PS4 a few years back just to play the DLC...

26hrs in and just getting to Novigrad... because I know he story I am just finding myself meandering and absorbing the beautiful world CD Projekt Red have created.

Really hope we get to see more of Cyberpunk 2077 in E3 this year, rumour has it we might!
Apparently, Ciri could be a cameo in Cyberpunk 2077.

She even mentions it in Witcher 3:

I know, right? I never picked up on that before. I don't think Cyberpunk 2077 will be released until 2019-20. It'll either be a late console generation game or be on the PS5.

There was a load of leaked games for E3. There's a link if anyone is curious.

will be beyond epic if CDPR do this
Do I absolutely need to play 1 & 2 before diving into this one? I've got 1 and tried it a few years back but couldn't get on with it.

Am told Witcher 3's on a par with AC Origins and I'm really enjoying Origins right now.

You mean AC is on par with the Witcher nah don't need to play the other games, just read through their wiki entries to know about the characters etc

You do not, you mightn't know some of the characters as well as you could but there is enough context to fill in everything. There is a stage at the start where a guy asks about the events of the previous games, answer as you want.

As for AC origins, I've not heard it being revered nearly as much as witcher 3.
Ok time to bite!

If you like AC: Origins, Witcher 3 will blow your socks off. I played Origins and after the novelty of travelling across ancient Egypt(about 10 hours) wore off, it started to feel like a poor man's Witcher. The writing is not up to par and the quest felt tedious to me, especially the side quests. It is beautiful though, I'll give it that and capturing forts is fun.

5 years ago, I'd probably thought this game was great, but I'm looking for a little more these days. Feels like a game I've played many times before, just a different skin. Maybe my expectation was too high. This is only my opinion, if you enjoy it, that's great.

No you don’t. In my first play through of the Witcher 3 I had not touched the Witcher 2 and had only briefly played the first, I didn’t feel like I was missing much.

I will recommend searching YouTube for “N7Kate” she has two videos on the Witcher 1&2 - they aren’t particularly long but well worth watching before you play 3 - no spoilers for 3 either.

I watched those a while back and does an excellent summary of the first two games. If you have time I highly recommend the original books too!

I have now played 1&2 and am on my second play through of 3 (mostly for the DLC but am genuinely enjoying it better the second time around with no pressure to push the main story along as I know what’s coming).

We have the books at home, my gf has read them and if i get to have a lazy pool holiday at some point (always seem to be doing city breaks these days) I will definitely read them! We also want to see if we can dig out the English subtitled version of The Hexer before the Netflix Witcher series launches! We’re lame, yes!

...I won’t even mention she’s playing The Witcher 3 for the second time too on the PS4 in the same room

What is the first Witcher like? In terms of the controls and gameplay.

Controls are absolutely fine, it’s not like tying to play System Shock or even as unnatural feeling as Gothic, combat is very simple - it feels more like a rhythm game than an action RPG at times but the story still holds up.

If you do go for it- turn lighting to “low” or the in engine cutscenes just won’t work and run in “Windows 7” compatibility mode or you’ll be crashing to desktop every 20 minutes or so. Still even with that - save often.

OK Cheers , I'll get round to it (eventually). I'm playing Pillars of Eternity, at the moment. Wasn't sure in the beginning, but its got me completely immersed now. My steam library is ridiculous, don't think I'll ever get round to playing all these games.

@mercutio98uk you were after this right?
Heard so much good about this game... Bought the GOTY edition a while back when it got the 4k update on the One X but I got bored, or should I say distracted by other games... I think I will try again!
