This 'offer' is available most of the times. Checked the price for a particular price about 2 weeks ago. Following day this offer came, the flight I've checked was more expensive. They put the prices up prior to releasing this so called offer.

They make Ryanair look like the pinnacle of customer service, but if you HAVE to fly with them then 20% off is better than usual I guess.

That must be the dumbest comment i've read all day. Go smack yourself in the mirror * facepalm *

spamabsorbed

Oh yes, they do that constantly.. but I think they just use cookies instead IP as using 'incognito mode' normally solves the problem. plus prices on your PC may (and often do) differ to what you see in their app!! worth checking both every time.

Chz

You can't accuse them of "LIES". Your flight ticket is 20% off. It's not their fault that most of the cost of a short flight is in taxes and fees. And I've no problem with their baggage terms. Anything you need for a long weekend (which is all you'd spend for most of their flights) is free. Beyond that it costs, but their hold luggage fees are actually less than many others. I admit their "large" carry-on fee is pretty rough though.

seamount0202

Sneaky rules ( especially hand luggage rules) and bad customer services. never ever again i will fly with this con.

w_kopanicki

Even then the tickets are still cheaper than yesterday ;)

Wow thats not good. It looks like the travel ban will be upheld but not til June. If you need any help, on foregoing USA and circling round do let me know and I will see how I can help.

I saw some flights from Sofia bulgaria to Dubai for a ridiculous £60 return in the coming months of course excluding summer holidays children are off. Many airlines fly to Sri Lanka from UAE like Sharjah for like £120 approx. Kiwi is a good site that will allow you so search regions then book direct with airline.

canitrunbattlefield

sorry to bring this thread up again - how would you recommend flying from UK to Colombo, Sri Lanka? I'm just amazed how you found all those obscure routes at the impossibly low prices..

skirmisher08

I've booked this flight but stupidly did not realise that there are visa waiver restrictions on people who have visited one of 7 Muslim countries even if they have British passport. Had to apply for a visa but it could not be approved so now I'm in black hole of administrative processing. Don't think I'm going to be able to make this trip at all as this process can take up to 60 days so I need a miracle to get one in time. Certain airlines allow name changes (eg the flight from Honolulu to Sydney). Please PM me if you want me to transfer any flights to you. I know majority of them are non transferable.

samc

Amazing deal! I did three round the world trips last year like this and have already done one this year. Love these bargain prices, will definitely be booking this up! Me luvs a holidayy!

luton stinks, wizz air sucks...life s a bitch

dragonball_lee108

Travelled here a few years ago. Amazing place so well worth going for flights at that price. Worth going there just for the Blue Lagoon actually. One of the best places I've ever been (about 43 quid entry). Recommend booking a studio apartment (there are quite a few in central Rekyavik) as if you're on a budget you can get stuff from the local supermarket. IF you're staying central Rekyavik it's a short walk to the bus station, tourist information centre where you can book excursions (Northern Lights, Golden Circle) which are reasonably priced IMO. Actually seeing the Northern Lights is hit and miss. Perfect for a short 3-4 night break. Take thermals.

mickjack

Can be expensive, car hire may break your heart, some cheaper hostels/hotels and very good fish an chips/pizza type meals to be had at reasonable price. Great place, good people, different.

Lifehack, stay away from wizzair sale. It means we have most expensive ticket sale.

BLR

went to bulgaria with these and it was so dodgy. Basically they have a luggage stand for hand luggage and if ur luggage doesn't fit in that they were telling people to pay £80. Oddly they only seemed to target the european customers, I had a massive bag and was crapping it but got through with no issue didn't even get asked to put my stuff in. People were cramming their shizzle to try fit it into this crappy wizair holdall! overall the planes werent bad too tbh, i was quite impressed

Thanks for the reply. That's one mystery solved. :) I'll have to keep an eye out. Have never managed to find one of these deals yet, but will keep looking.

rachelandgromit

Showed up on Skyscanner initially but then it wouldn't show up the £4.98 seats, went onto Wizzair and tried a few dates and hey presto....

Asam22

Looks like they just ran a a limited promotion with just around 40 to 100 seats at £3 just to create hype and get every one talking about wizzair . social media marketing taktics free advertising people who got in early will have their seats issued everyone else can fly in cargo. lolz

Smokestack

Can I ask the OP how they initially find these deals? Do you just go to a site at random and check lots of dates on the off chance? Or do you have some hint that there might be a very cheap deal available? I can't for the life of me think of how you might have come across this £5 deal without knowing it was already there - unless you just randomly visit Wizz and plug in dates on the off chance. Thanks

A few nice buildings in Sofia , but not a great city. Central railway station to be avoided & pray you don't need a toilet whilst out & about. Give the zoo a miss at all costs unless seeing extremely depressed animals waiting to die floats your boat.

neiiilers

I agree. When flying with low-cost airlines you just have to know what you're getting... a flight from point a to b. Want something else? Pay for it. Quite a few folks tend to expect a first class service when they paid 10 quid for a flight.

MrHot

Best of the no-frills IMO. Not so bad when things go wrong too.

vladdy

Been to Sofia. Not a fan. Prefer their Romanian neighbours in Bucharest.

panddda

Really? We've flown with Wizzair half a dozen times and they've been great. Onboard no-frills service, but the bar and snacks are a bargain compared to most airlines. The staff tend to be much friendlier if you're friendly to them to begin with! Saying that, we've flown Ryanair dozens of times too and never had any major complaints there either. In fact I've never had any real problems with any airline except one single instance with American Airlines.
