Inspired by the classic Universal film that launched a legacy of horror, The Wolfman brings the myth of a cursed man back to its iconic origins. Oscar® winner Benicio Del Toro stars as Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father (Oscar® winner Anthony Hopkins), Talbot sets out to find his brother...and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself.
Lawrence Talbot’s childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. But when his brother’s fiancée, Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt), tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers, and that a suspicious Scotland Yard inspector named Aberline (Hugo Weaving) has come to investigate.
As he pieces together the gory puzzle, he hears of an ancient curse that turns the afflicted into werewolves when the moon is full. Now, if he has any chance at ending the slaughter and protecting the woman he has grown to love, Talbot must destroy the vicious creature in the woods surrounding Blackmoor. But as he hunts for the nightmarish beast, a simple man with a tortured past will uncover a primal side to himself…one he never imagined existed.

The film was utter Kack and the price is not outstanding to be honest. Ive not voted as Im not gonna bother looking for a cheaper copy.

But I expect there will be one soon cos this movie suck!:p

Terrible, terrible film. Watch before you buy.

Agreed, terrible movie.

Voted hot! I have not watched the film, but just based on a collectors point of view. £12 for a steelbook is a great price. I picked up 10,000 BC in HMV a few weeks back for the same price

Why would you even do that? just because its a SteelBook? You are dumb, really dumb.......................for real!:D

Might have a look on Saturday.
Glasgow? Which store, along Sauchiehall street or opposite Buchanan Galleries or .....

Good price for this Blu Ray even compared to the non-steel version so hot from me.

A question. Are these really that collectible? Don't they churn out thousands of "Limited" Edition Blu Rays like this?

Well people collect certain things, some people collect coins, some stamps etc etc. And if i can, i get the steelbook blu rays.

Its not an obsession, but if the price is right, i dont see why you call me dumb. Im sure you wouldnt mind owning a copy of I Am Legend steelbook Blu Ray which i seen sell for £120 plus on ebay! Thats a great return on something that you could have potentially bought for £15 on release.

But thanks for calling me really dumb, shows your knowledge and respect for others interests is of no concern to you.

To be fair on him, you could have bought the steelbook version of 10,000BC online months back for around the 6 quid mark.

The film is ****, it tanked massively and pretty much hit the online bargain bins as soon as it reached dvd/blu-ray.

12 quid is about 11.99 more than it's worth.

Rep to you for a dignified response to an idiotic post.

Good-ish price for a new blu, very good price for a steelbook (which rarely drop below this). Whether you like this film or not, or whether the blu ray is going to be collectible is irrelevant. Hot deal as cheapest around and a good deal for those who like to collect these.

I got Oceans Trilogy for £12 earlier this week (as mentioned in another thread) from the Argyle Street shop. They had quite a few Blu Ray disks from about £8 upwards.

HMV have all sorts of deals in their stores, one would have thought it would serve them better to have these offers online also> Especially since online they don't pay staffing fees.

I have not had my ps3 long and had not really started buying blu ray movies or steelbooks for that matter when this may have been cheaper months ago as you say.

I was aware that the film did not get good reviews before buying it. But as i said, i bought it for the steelbook and not the quality of the film. Although the picture quality transfer on blu is supposed to be great

They must have so much stuff to get rid of. They need the money.

Del Torro is honking in this, as wooden as a bit of 4x2

This is 48 degrees yet on the front pages?

Was at 90 odd degrees but must have been getting lots of cold votes. I guess the fact the film is not so great must be the reason. Still is a hot deal, due to being the cheapest price for that film.

That's ridiculous when you can still buy the steel book version for £17. Who would pay that price for a freely available and very average film that has nothing to do with the excellent book.

He's right though. Item number 120605916698 sold for £89 + £1 postage. However they are limited edition steelbooks so i dont think this would go the same way.

Gobsmacked!

That's the German copy. The one going for extortionate prices is the Canadian Futureshop release. Indiana Jones and Iron Man are where the real money is at though.

ouch! poor OP.

Fell asleep through this film, and people paying near £100 for a disc and a "steelbook", having something wrong with them.

Benicio Del Toro did not need any makeup to play the wolfman.

Hey, sorry to cause offence. I meant that comment in a light heaerted way. The dumb bit is a quote from a vid on Youtube thats doing the rounds just now. It was just mean as a bit of fun. I guess you would have to have seen the vid to appreciate it. I know we all collect different things, I was only knocking it in a banter kinds way.

The best way of wasting £12.

why would anyone buy a limited edition or special edition version of something that's rubbish?

I could understand if the movie was excellent, but buying an "edition" for a movie that failed seems crazy, or am I missing something?

F8ilm is dreadful so slow and dull.. only good thing are seeing the sets of castle combe and lacock which are both within 5 miles of my house in a beautifully shot way... film jus bored me to tears I nearly turned it off a few times but was eating a lovley takeaway that kept me more entertained than the film

Because some people will still want to add this to their collection. People buy Steelbooks regardless on how good the movie is.

It's a collectors thing...and if they make some money off the back of it then good luck to them.

The score on this is -232° (note the minus symbol) and it's on the front page of hukd?

Good to see votes for the price and not peoples tastes in the product.

£120!?! There seems to be some rather bonkers collectors with too much money around.

The Futureshop Iron Man's, I Am Legend, Indiana Jones steelbooks are made in very small numbers and for a limited time only and will never be re-printed. Thats why they cost a lot of money for collectors. If you have a copy of either of those 3 films unopened, you will get £100+ easy for them. These are commercial releases whereby they are not limited and if they say they are they will be limited to millions lol. You will never get your money back on these nevermind a collectable profit.

The steelbook i found was a HMV 'exclusivve. Still i don't think that kind of collectable will hold any value. £100 on EBay for a fairly recent and, as i said, mediocre film with a shockingly bad ending of book ruining proportions is mad. I feel like drawing a picture of a mug on each of my DVD's and putting them EBay as limited to 1 of 1 and seeing what happens. Someone bought a 2p for about £20 once on the possibility that it may, or may not, have been handled by someone famous....Nuff said.
'We'll gon find you we're gon find you....'

This must be the coldest hot deal ever. How on Earth did this happen?

Haha, I think I've figured it out - the new HUKD probably can't tell the difference between positive numbers and negative numbers. In fact, it's showing red for me at the moment, despite the minus sign.
