Have not read through that one - was there some bad comments?

Rubish, shity quality. Stay away. Not safety on the road.

What, so it doesn't comply with BS or have a kitemark? You sure?

Yeah, it's bound to be cheapo build quality and may not last very long, but £49.99!!

I am going to buy my daughter a bike, kids ones all £100 - so this is a great deal! If this is that bad, you can always try it then send it back.

I got one from them recently. May have been a one off but the bike was really badly scratched.

Go to a decent bike shop - around £300 for a reasonable bike. There is a gem of a shop tucked away in Colyton, Devon. Very keen prices and good service. Always try to ask for a discount if price is not right, or they prefer to throw in extras like a rack, lights, spare tubes etc.

It's a 50-quid bike for 50 quid which isn't much of a deal, it's only cheaper than other bikes because it has cheaper components.

Good bikes are expensive, very expensive, but this is clearly aimed at the casual purchaser who will probably only ride it a few times before giving up on cycling which means it's not much money to lose.

The worst thing about this bike is that it will be unpleasant to ride, slow, clunky, heavy, uncomfortable. A great bike for non-bikers but not really a good deal.

I know! Dont know why this isnt a deal - clearly not for a harcore cycler but for going out and about sure its fine

I bought one of these bikes from sports direct (through internet order). BIG MISTAKE. the front wheel comes unattached, and is difficult to put on, the manual wasn't even accurate, the brakes are a bit dodgy. and the wheels.... Your better of going to halfords and picking one up fullly assembled. Nothing against sports direct, I have bought other stuff from there and have been adequately satisfied.

halfords bikes normally come boxed and have to be assembled. there's more than the wheel to put on if you buy one from there. hm, i can't comment on the quality of this bike but i bet a lot of the halfords ones are no better.

Thank goodness - humour in a bike thread!

And women know how to wear Lycra too!

Can I just add - mine was delivered quickly and was easy to build. No problems whatsoever with the bike - it seems of good quality for a £50 bike! It doesn't even seem that heavy! I am one very happy bunny - thankyou to the original poster!
