Too heavy to carry home
Sexist very sexist indeed. I feel obligated to write a strongly worded letter.
I feel like the title should say women children and puny men.

Totally agree, would show some men right up! Especially the ones that just look in the mirror at the gym!
Women? Why can this not be used by men?

Some women in my gym could pass as men, with their hairy chests and plump thighs
It definitely seems dated
Reminds me of when I told my daughter about a certain advertising campaign, she didn't believe me

I think they're gendered because there's a substantial amount of plastic in these which also applies to most of the women in my gym these days.

Can blokes use this? Or is it just for birds ??

Kindest regards
What makes this a women's set? Is it easier to stack away after they used it once?

Calm down, there are women wearing bigger shoes than men but it does not change the fact that shoe manufacturers don't make many size 10, 11 or 11 shoes for women. Acknowledging the difference does not mean discrimination.

Also, the "plenty" of women who can out lift men is probably about 2%. Exaggerating the importance of outliers is more fun though.

It’s a bit sexist and anti male too! Plenty of men can’t lift this
Decent set. Light by any standard (a 'proper' barbell itself weighs 20kg) but as the OP says it's suitable.for a number of aerobic/weights combined activities like body pump. Could also be a good start for someone starting out at home.

I don't believe that bar will allow much or any extra weight to be added though. Which limits progression. I also don't like the threaded bar parts which connect, I'd be worried they would come loose in use.

I've recently met 2 female Scottish competition powerlifters , including the new landlady of my local, seems to be growth area. I think its previously not been publicised but the growth of fitspo type content on Instagram and Pinterest I think its becoming much more popular.

Always worth a look on gum tree. There are always a lot of people within 50 miles of me selling squat racks, lifting benches, barbells, stacks of weights etc. They go dirt cheap second hand.

The average woman doesn’t lift anywhere near what the average man lifts. Strong women don’t lift anywhere near what strong men lift.

That is 100% fact, despite what the snowflakes keep trying to suggest.

But that’s irrelevant really - it shouldn’t be marketed as a woman’s barbell. It’s just a really awful, budget light barbell set.
