Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap PS Plus Pre-Order Discount - £12.79 @ Playstation PSN

This is a modern version of 1989 Sega Master System game Wonder Boy: Dragon's Trap. You can switch between old and new visual+audio styles as you play. You can even use your old progress passwords from Sega, making it cross-save between Sega Master System and PS4

One of the most exciting classic platformers in my opinion, playing as different characters as you progress feels refreshing and boss battles are great too. Soundtrack appears to be remastered and extended as well. Game comes out April 18 on PS4,XB1 and Switch.

Boasting beautiful, hand-drawn animations and a re-orchestrated soundtrack, the cult classic returns with a unique blend of exploration, action, and adventure!
Cursed into a half-human, half-lizard monstrosity by the Meka-Dragon, you are in search for a cure! The only way you can return to human form is to find the Salamander Cross, a magical item with the power to remove curses...
With each dragon slain, the curse intensifies, transforming you into different animals! Explore large, interconnected locations populated with grumpy monsters and exotic dragons!
Play as the game’s classic character, Hu-Man, or as his brand-new, long-awaited co-star Hu-Girl. You can also inhabit Lizard-Man, Mouse-Man, Piranha-Man, Lion-Man, and Hawk-Man, and use their unique abilities to uncover the land’s deepest secrets.
Enjoy 3 difficulty levels catering to players of all types, and switch from modern graphics and sound to 8-bit graphics/audio at any time - even during gameplay!

Been following this for a while, hope it lives up to the hype

Hopefully it's a good remake
Won't you take us far away from the mucky muck

Hopefully it's a good remake

I remember that code cant wait for this remake - an all time favourite for me from the Master System
What is the secret to his power?
Take my money! Sold! Freakin loved Wonder Boy as a kid!
when is it out?
I assume this isn't on the Vita... games like these would be great on Vita, I noticed that this game is also coming out on the Nintendo Switch
I love the look of this.

What is the secret to his power?

How 'bout the power to kill a yak from 200 yards away...with mind bullets!

Surprised if I'm the first in with that. The original game was a cracker. Was never jealous of my mate having a Master System but when I had a bash on Wonderboy III it instantly made me love it. Cracking game and prefer the old visuals for nostalgia sake. Heat!

A preview with the devs....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDi9rgu2u_Y

I was surprised to see them on Metal Jesus' channel. Video really assured me that the game will be good. They also seem to be interested in releasing a Collector's Edition (which may be announced on March 22). And they also said Vita version is possible, which is good to hear.

By the way PaRappa Remastered also has a PS Plus pre-order discount at the moment :))

Definitely hope to be getting this for my Switch. The option to be playing this handheld is a huge plus.
Its kind of weird to think this is part of the Adventure Island series in Japan. I remember having the TurboGrafx-16 /PC Engine version called Dragons Curse back in the early 90's. A really engrossing game for the time. Pretty hardcore though, not for people who like an easy ride in a game. I am fascinated to see what the new game looks like
