Back in 1989, SEGA releases a little game on their Sega Master System called “Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap” which received a lot of praise. 28 years later it was remastered for the current generation of gamers to experience!

The story follows Wonder-Boy (or Wonder-Girl) as he attempts to slay the Meka-Dragon. As he defeats him he is cursed with a hideous Lizard-Man form! He now quests for a way to undo the curse, and to do that he must slay more dragons until he is able to defeat the Vampire Dragon who holds the Salamander Cross, the only item to undo the curse.

Over the course of the game, players will be able to explore a large world with various themes like desert, jungle, cave, and sky. The more dragons he defeats the more forms he’ll gain and each one has a unique ability to allow him to travel to places he normally couldn’t previously. There are six forms he can assume over the course of the game, his Hu-Man form, his fire-breathing Lizard-Man form, the wall-crawling Mouse-Man form, the underwater-breathing Piranha-Man, the physically powerful Lion-Man form, and the Hawk-Man form that allows him to fly.

The game also has a very charming hand-drawn art style but if you want that retro aesthetic you can switch over to an 8-bit art style if you wish.

Go Slay them Dragon’s!

Not a bad price but worth bearing in mind there's a UK physical release coming to Switch and PS4 via Headup games who published the physical version of 'The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+' in Europe.

ah tempted.... even though I want the US language one. Pretty sure the box cover will show Japan language.
Assume these are physical?
Yep physical. USA copies are around £40, also actually works out about same price as a download. Is £17.99 last I checked on Eshop.
What about import taxes?

Looks like you're right, language on the back is Japanese.

Unlikley at this price, import taxes don't apply to items under £25, I've never been slapped with tax from anything I've ordered here

Should be this one, so I guess no Japanese on the cover:

Play-asia posts stuff in sneaky way (they state they pay for tax themselves). They declare the item as low value. So you are safe.

Correct. Also it's in English, not Japanese. Physical media. Hope it helps.

They also add 20% import duty which takes this to just shy of £30 delivered economy

At check out you can pay customs in advance if your order is over the threshold for your country. Saves unecessary hassle IMHO.
+ £3.69 delivery which should be in the deal title.

Import taxes is down to your luck. Is definetly free if your less than £15 spend. I bought the not released joy con green + pink straps from Play Asia in 2 seperate orders and was not taxed.

Apparently Play Asia are quite helpful with avoiding tax for customers but should assume you will get customs tax, in which case add on approx. £10-£11 Royal Mail fees to be paid before they deliver it to you (you get a card through your door).

Even if you don't I believe they don't declare the item as high value anyway, just like other Chinese retailers (or at least they used to be like this).
All things considered, I am not going to risk any customs fees, and going to hold out for a good price on a US copy. I believe it will be more collectible and hold its value better if you get a US copy. There will be a deal at some point if patient, would happily pay £25-30 for it.

It is not £25, it is £15 but I am saying Play-Asia would declare it as a gift and gifts are allowed up to £39. You guys are safe.

£7.53 is a good price BTW for the Joy Con green strap if your putting in an order for this game anyway. Is not released in UK and may never be released in UK.

I've bought from play asia many times over the past few years and i've never had any problems with customs.
So many hidden fees not included in the original post so cold from me - too misleading.

Or pre-pay the fees at checkout. First time I've seen them do this at checkout. Something new?

I've updated it to reflect additional shipping. Still a bargain for an English language physical copy IMHO.

Looks substantially higher though, as the Couriers will be taking a cut and it will be sent by Courier. If you go for the basic delivery they use national post, so it gets delivered to you via Royal Mail and they "only" charge about £10-£11 for Asian deliveries declared over £15. Otherwise its free.

I agree with mixmixi though, Play Asia are a good retailer and they have a good reputation for looking after UK customers and helping avoid daft fees. Is still not guaranteed though...

Is a bit confusing but it is 100% Japanese, the box will be Japanese looking. Is just the cart plays on all languages is all.

This is why I want to buy a US release copy of the game, cheapest price at moment seems to be around £40.
365games sell the Japanese game and they say this:

Please note: this is the Asian version of the game which is compatible with PAL systems. Any future DLC may require an Asian Nintendo account. Game plays in English.

To be honest, it does seem unlikely there will be any updates to the game, but you never know. You can also get it for PC for under £15 if that interests anyway, try Coolshop for that.

Just a heads up in case you don't want to wait.

I love that too, an amazing bit of Master System nostalgia!

The following should also appeal to former Master System owners. It was originally tweeted by Nicalis (US publisher) and retweeted by Headup (UK/EU publisher who works with Nicalis) so it should be the same in the upcoming UK version:

Maybe if we're really lucky we'll get the Master System boxart on the Switch version's reversible cover for the complete package

Edit - forgot to add, expect the goodies in the UK version too as Headup included the bonus items in Binding of Isaac:

Have been out all day since this deal was posted and have been mulling over it, should I buy or not, then I come home to see this news of a special Euro release version. Superb stuff, that's the one for me then. I love the PS cover, and hope they make it a bit more unique even if it is technically a rip off at £40 for a cool SMS style cart, and SMS style cover on the box.

They will probably chuck in a crappy keyring or something to but I will still be one of the mugs to buy it.

Is genuinely the game I am most looking forward to playing this year, but that of course will have much to do with playing the original game in a previous life.

I bought and played through it on release. It's a very lovingly recreated game and the music and visuals are superb. Get it.
If you email / chat to playasia you can ask them to mark down your deliveries so you'll bypass customs.
Are there any limited release Switch games I should buy now that will possibly sell out in the near future?
@Pink_Yoshi_Rebel_ArmySonic Mania (digital only) but with a collectible box and bundle of stuff. Sold out quickly when released last year, but can be bought second hand of course.

Although there is a lot of good rumour of a Sonic Mania physical release for Switch for 2018.

Got an email today to say the price for the Switch version was wrong and should have been $29.99.

They said you can cancel if you want so I did then they replied saying it's their fault and they will honour the price.

I wonder how much that mistake cost if they sold a rake of them...

I've woken up this morning to 2 emails, 1 saying the price is wrong, do I want to cancel, and 1 saying the order has been dispatched. Wonder if it's worth me trying my luck and cancelling. Maybe the order might still turn up
