Wonky Avocados - 5 for £1.20 @ Morrisons instore

Just grabbed a bag of 5 'wonky' avocados from Morrisons for £1.20. They don't look very wonky to me although they are a bit on the small side which is probably why they have to sell them cheap.

Worth a look if you're heading to Morrisons anyway over the next few days

This is good from a major supermarket, I hope all stores have them. My local greengrocer does 4 for £1 and I'll guess that they'll be similar ones that didn't meet some size specification.

As a general thing, I hope more supermarkets offer "misshapes" at a discount, some people don't want perfection and will be glad for a discount and a reduction in food waste.

Great find, thanks. Will have to make a trip to Morries.
My word I panicked for a moment as I'm dyslexic.....
Bonus points for the picture. SO TRUE.

I find with avocado though, that only one in 4 actually nice these days.
Not sure about Avocados: they sometimes have brown bits in which I really don't like. If they are like this then no sale to me!
Sometimes it's hard to tell from the outside
Guaca-holy-mole!
Morrison's should donate a percentage of profits from sales of these as so many people end up in A&E from de-stoning 'normal' avocados that wonky ones will send them to intensive care!! LOL

That photo you posted is completely spot on. I have had 3 avocados in my fridge for a while now, I never know when it is the right time to eat them.
They aren't in all stores, not in my local though are available online.
I got these from local Morrison's (Acton) the other day - absolutely nothing 'wonky' about them. They just looked just like normal (if a little small). Heat from me

You should keep them out of the fridge to ripen..they turn a darker colour and become softer to the touch when ready for eating.
Unfortunately these cheaper ones can end up brown inside and inedible..maybe my bad luck!

Shouldn’t be allowed to post avocado deals! If people stop buying avocados they’ll be able to save a deposit for a house.

Heat added.

Yes the last bag (net) I had were mostly dodgy. By the time they were ripe, that is soft enough to eat, they were basically inedible because of the horrible black/brown bits. It's a shame because I've been getting these for months and never had a bad one before. By the way try avocado with a splash of Frank's hot sauce...delish!
£1.56 online for me

Go steady, buy these and you might not be able to afford to buy a house

Agreed.

One of my main annoyances is that supermarkets, and now even my local greengrocer have started pre-packing stuff. So rather than buying an onion, I have to buy a bag of onions, and enevitably some goes to waste.

Why not cut up the onion you don't use immediately and freeze? Zero food waste and a timesaver then

I can and do freeze a lot of stuff, but I only have limited storage in the freezer. Especially when cooking larger size meals so that I can store some of those.

The issue would be easier rectified if I could just buy what I needed instead of having to buy what Tesco etc decide.
They're also £1.56 for 6 at most branches.Bought some in Byker, Newcastle yesterday.
Keep them out of the fridge until they darken and give slightly when lightly squeezed - too hard and you'll get the brown marks - then transfer to the fridge to hold them in that condition.
