I wonder what unwonky chillies look like?
I once got one shaped like a willy while I was working at Cadburys,
Hmmm.... Willy Wonky in the chocolate factory i called it
'Wonky' is a marketing ploy to get you to buy more than you need and you'll probably waste some - please don't!

What a load of rubbish, it's far better to buy unattractive veg than have it wasted before it even reaches the shops!
Had to read that twice to be sure.

I couldn't agree more - but most of this stuff isn't 'unattractive' - that's my whole point!
They also sell Wonky Grapes. They are £1.25 which is about half the price of the non-wonky variety but I don't see how they are any different? How can a grape be wonky? lol
The whole thing still makes no sense to me. If I needed a specific bag of veg, I'd still buy it if a couple were an unusual shape. Has no effect on the meal it would be used in. Retailers are far too picky.

Supermarkets have this ridiculous idea that fruit/veg should be a specific size. So, if they think all grapes should be between 25mm-35mm in length (as an example, never actually measured a grape myself), any above or below this will automatically be classed as 'wonky'.

Which is ludicrous in itself as some on a bunch may be wonky and some will not be; when in actual fact they are all perfectly fine. They'd be better concentrating on lessening the plastic it comes in, and less time on what is and isn't wonky . Just my 2ps worth!

And used as part of that marketing ploy - but that's fine.

I didn’t know that chillies were supposed to be straight? They look just like any other chilli I’ve ever seen in any other supermarket or that I gave grown myself

They all freeze easily enough. Tomatoes and strawberries are a bit mushy once thawed but are fine for soups/stews/purees. Grapes are best taken off the bunch first to take up less room.
