b&q have this playhouse reduced from £134 down to £99 . the size is 4x4 and 4ft 8 to the peak of the roof . we have built it already and excellent quality wood ,very sturdy . my daughter is 4 and she loves it . the window opens out . the playhouse does not come painted as in picture so you can paint it any colour you want. It has great reviews .

cheap shed

hot

I saw one built the other day in B&Q the quality was horrid :\

Cute, but I will paint it pink

i saw one that had been weathered for 4 months in my local B&Q and i agree, the condition was awful. I asked a staff member and he said that all of the sub £200 houses do it because they are so thin. Which is a shame because it could be such a good cheap house if they'd just used thicker wood.

you can see the quality of the wood before you buy as it is wrapped in polythene . i can honestly say that the wood on the playhouse i have is definetly not thin . so maybe worth asking to see the wood before you buy . my shed has thinner wood than the playhouse and i have had it for over 10 years .

I've had a similar one from B&Q which cost £130 a couple of years back - as long as you treat the wood and keep an eye on it, no worries

I've tried to get this from my local but despite them having quite a few in store they couldn't sell them to me because of the bad condition (of the wood) of them all. May have to try another one further away. Please could anyone tell me the dimensions of the packaging as I only have a small car.

we collected it in our car and have a grand scenic but it was very tight so i doubt it will fit in a small car .we had to open the package and put it in single panels . it 4ft wide by 4ft high and not certain but think it was 1 1/2 ft thick , try giving them a phone and ask if they could measure the dimensions for you .
hope this helps

Think some yahct varnish is in order to have it last. for a tenner you can protect it for years, brilliant stuff. Kepp upto treating the wood it'll last forever

Thanks! been looking for a playhouse for my little one and this is perfect and can fit all her toys in there too!!

Picked this up over the weekend. Have to say that the quality is good. My brother picked it up in has van as it was big. He would have said if he thought it was poor quality. As other members have said as long as you treat the wook it will be ok.

i got something like this from macro about a year ago for 80 pound and the one i got look better then this ....... so if you can might be worth checking there if you can

Saw these in my local B&Q did think about getting one for my Grandchildren! they looked good but not worth £99 wood is very thin.

We bought this a couple of weeks back, it does require a reasonable amount of time to assemble, its not pre-drilled, you even have to pane the windows with beading and tacks! That said now its done it looks great the kids love it and seems robust enough (especially for £99). Paint/Stain/Varnish it and you'll be fine. Read carefully the instructions for the roof though as i misunderstood them and had to bodge it a bit.
And an aftermarket door knob wouldn't go amis as the supplied one is just a block of wood!

Don't rely on the Reserve & Collect system to actually reserve you a product. It's useless.

I bought one of these for my daughter last week and the quality is actually pretty good for £99 when you compare it to some of the plastic playhouses you get for similar money.

If you spend the time to treat the wood properly before assembly and make a good solid base for it this will last for years.

Now I just have to build the picket fence and bark around the borders :-)

Edit: I agree with the doorknob comment, as you can see in my picture it is just a cheap block of wood which does the job but does not look too good.

Depends on what you drive, we just about got ours in a estate car.
The package is 4' x 4' x 1'
I would recommend the Wickes garden colour paints which they had on 2 for £20 in my local too

Looks good for the price...

Thanks for this info shall go and have a look, not decided what colour to go for yet.

I bought one last year and it was only £85 - that was the normal price. Another example of a B&Q sham sale if you ask me.

Agree with painting it before you assemble aswell. Can be fiddley once built... Especialy if you want a contrasting colour scheme.

Dont bother with reserve and Collect, They WILL sell your reseved item to somebody else, They are just collecting phone numbers and E-Mail Addresses from you, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ! !
