Does this mean there are three different bottles on offer or is it just meaning there is two and the Bourbon which is also the Malt and there is also secondly the Rye?And if there is three, what is the difference between the Malt and the Bourbon?

Three different bottles. Each one is made with a combination of malted barley, corn and rye in different proportions. The standard bourbon is about 70% corn, the other two versions are much more dominant in their respective grains.
Personally I really like the spicy heat of rye whiskeys, and the Woodford rye is one of the better ones at this price point.

Yup was my goto for a long time
Now I try for four roses when it's affordable, I prefer the original Woodford to the rye.
Think it hit about 600 degrees when I spotted the rye at 25 just before Xmas so heat added mate.

Damn me being on holiday, I ain't got a Woodford glass lol

I still need to try any bourbon other than Jack Daniel's.

I might give Woodford ago while it's on offer. But if these bourbons are better than JD, what is the goto cola for such a bourbon?

thank you
Normally get this for £20 on amazon.

Jd is just dreadful. Just don’t see why it’s so popular. As for adding cola, I trust you are kidding. I tried a jd and coke a few weeks ago, absolutely disgusting, almost as nasty as a jaeger bomb

Just add the cola you normally drink (or any top shelf cola like Fever Tree).

I suspect most people aren’t a fan of mixing decent whisky with anything other than a few drops of water, but it’s always good to mix once and a while to remind yourself of what you like!

I was going to say the same thing. The Woodford Reserve Rye is lovely stuff. Nicer than the regular WR Bourbon. But Wild Turkey 101, Evan Williams White Label and especially Four Roses Small Batch are much nicer Bourbon whiskys in my opinion. The Four Roses Small Batch is for me flippin gorgeous and in a class all of its own and at £27 on Amazon is a bargain as its by far the nicest bourbon I have tried.

I have though just bought the Woodford Reserve Malt edition for my first ever try of that one so will see how it compares to the others.

But the person saying Jack Daniels, don't bother, The Gentleman Jack is not as nice as any of the Woodford Reserve's and if you want a low priced nice whisky then Amazon are selling Bulleit bourbon for a bargain £18.

Thanks, but I went out and bought the malt. I already have two bottles of the Rye and one of the bourbon from Chrsitmas. Will do a Pepsi challange tonight to see how the malt compares to the other two

i went out and bought a bottle of the rye today as i like it. ive never tried the malt yet. ( thanks op)
if you can get you hands on 4 roses single barrel im sure you will like it. its a really nice drop.
Jack and coke is lovely. We can't all be boring old men wasting money on fancy alcohol. I'd rather get a litre of Jack for £20 and go party than spend £25 on this and sit home alone watching war movies

JD isn’t a bourbon, it’s a whiskey
I like a bourbon and coke now and again too btw, but it really does disguise a lot of the flavours so save your money and pick up anything that says “Kentucky Straight” on the label.
Also, try a bit of ginger ale as a mixer, much more subtle and works really well with bourbon. Or one of my favourite cocktails, an Old Fashioned. You just need bourbon, sugar, bitters, a slice of orange, a sharp suit and a good-lookin’ broad.

But when you mix it with Cola any whisky will pretty much taste the same. I never mixed it will Cola, but I suspect it would be nice if you did. But I was very surprised with how nice the regular Whyte & Mackay was when I tried it. Of all of the super low priced whiskys I have tried and I have went through them all and hated them all bar one, this was the only one I was pleasantly surprised with and felt it punched higher than its weight. On its own it is much nicer than regular JD in my opinion.

You can get a Litre of it for £16 if you really wanted the cheapest drink.

For those who may be curious, I just did a Pepsi challange between the new bottle of Malt I bought and the Rye. I tried the Malt first and thought it was incredibly smooth tasting whisky and expected to myself I am going to like this more as this is nice.

Then however I had the Rye immediately after and there is just so much more flavour to it. It is honestly like it is the Malt with a whole extra few layers ontop. The Rye was an easy winner of the two.

Of the three I would say go for the Rye. There is a reason why everywhere else sells it for £45-£50 and nowhere bar Asda puts it on special.

JD is NOT A Bourbon...
Unfortunately my store only had one bottle of the Rye. Which is a shame as at £25 it’s a steal (it’s £37 on Amazon) I grabbed the last bottle and a bottle of the Malt too. Free glass with each bottle which are fairly decent too.

Pretty good starter bourbon, don't be put off by the cheap looking packaging.
