Hanworthhomebrew
beerloverTV

to name a few all have brewed kits with good instructions

This is a grear starter beer kit, turns out lovely.
First one I ever made.

ebay you can get a starter bin for just 26 pound and you can get the brew stuff for about 13

Don't have a Wilkos in NI but heat for the price, guess I'll have to wait until Tesco's have their 25% sale (hopefully.)

This is all you need for a starter kit (£16.70): geterbrewed.com/geb…er/

For bottles, just reuse 2L fizzy drink bottles. If you buy 2L tesco cheap fizzy water (20p) you won't even have to sterilise the bottles (just ditch the water, prime with sugar and fill with your beer.)

After the initial expense, which still makes it under £1 a pint, you won't need any more fancy equipment but things can be expanded in stages. It's not an expensive hobby.

I done an all grain stout at the weekend

Im drinking a ginger ale its so tasty.

Hi Chris, instructions will be with the kit but it's pretty simple. You just need a vessel big enough for 40 pints with a lid (see my link) and sterilise it. For this kit you add the ingredients and top up with warm water and mix. Add the yeast and wait 2 weeks. You then syphon the beer into sterilised bottles along with a little sugar to give it some fizz and wait another 2 weeks in the warm. Put the bottles in the fridge or somewhere cold for another 2 weeks and then drink. 6 weeks total but will improve with age.

Oh icant wait that long i drink after 14 days and it tastes perfect.

Anyone got a link for a co2 keg for cheap. Thanks

I got a C02 bottle for £27 but unfortunately don't know where it was from. A fellow brewer from NI (and the Home Brew Forum) was travelling to England and sourced these bottles that didn't need a deposit. It may have been an Air-Liquide supplier but I can't remember where exactly it was from. I'll try my best to find for you and I've PM'ed the guy who got it for me but I do remember it didn't require a deposit. If I find it I'll gladly put the link up.

You could try a local Fire Extinguisher place and explain your needs. There is food grade C02 but C02 is just a gas and I know several brewers who use a modified fire extinguisher.

Failing that, some Home Brew suppliers sell bottles for around £100. Most suppliers will require a deposit which is basically just another charge as a C02 bottle should last several years (unless your a numpty like me who didn't check for leaks)

Woodfordes wherry makes a cracking ale. Brewed mine this time last year. Kept a few, just keeps getting better.
