Its variable speed so start it at low speed and increase as required.
Will these cut through block pavers with a decent blade? I am using block paving to edge my lawn and need to cut some angles....

You'll probably have to go at both sides of the block, a 125mm disc usually only cuts to 45mm depth, absolute max, but blocks do vary in thickness.

The switch is in the proper place too, very tempted to get this to replace a Bosch one that has the switch on the side up at the top near the business end.

Used one to take Ivy trails off a plaster wall - worked a treat - and to take back a sticking wooden gate that had dropped a bit -
