It's on the Aldi site now - here's the link:
aldi.co.uk/wor…300

And this is it:

Workzone-18V-Li-Ion-Impact-Driver-A.jpg?

I just picked up next week's deals flyer early from Aldi and spotted this. Not showing online yet so I can't post a picture but hopefully it will soon appear on the page in the link.

These things are really good for tough screwdriving jobs, eg something like building a deck, and are just as capable of removing stubborn screws. They have way more torque than a drill/driver - 90nm in this case. Unfortunately they are usually way more expensive than a drill/driver too so I think this one is a real deal, especially with the two Samsung-cell batteries which are interchangeable with other Workzone stuff.

No-load speed 0-2200 rpm.
Impact rate 0-3000 bpm.
Max torque 90nm.
Variable speed with reverse.
1/4" hex chuck.
LED worklight.
2 screwdriver bits.
Belt clip.

This is very low torque for an impact driver, 12v impacts usually have more than this. Wickes do an own-brand one for £55 (one battery) with 140nm, your money is better spent on that, this Workzone is little more than a toy really and will likely prove to be a disappointment.

I'm beginning to realise from your comments on here that you live in a different world to most of us. Your own posts are for professional/premium brand stuff (a fair number of which have gone icy cold) but you seem to want to comment negatively on posts for 'amateur' kit. Why?

However, I've found the Wickes one and you are correct (it's 18v by the way). Why not post it?

I would hardly call Wickes own-brand pro/premium. Maybe I do live in a different world to many others, that is to say I work with tools daily and know what they are/should be capable of. If you don't, I'm not here to criticise, but neither should you when someone points out that your "deal" isn't much of a deal. You can spend money on this, and find it isn't up to the job, or spend another fiver on something that is.

The reason I didn't post the Wickes one is the same reason I always reply with when asked that question - it isn't a deal, it's the normal price. Why don't you post the Wickes one- I don't think you'll find anything else in this price range with those kind of specs.

To be fair didn't think torque was the number that mattered on an impact driver, thought joules were the important measure?

You're not thinking of a rotary hammer (SDS) are you? I can't say I've seen an impact driver rated in anything other than Nm (or ft/lbs on US versions).

I don't know why you've got such a chip on your shoulder with me, but if I wanted to troll you've given me more than enough ammo. I was merely pointing out some facts in the hope it would help people. If you want spend the same on a lesser product than you could on a superior product that's your right to do so. Others would prefer to have the better product.
I don't mind if anyone with half a brain doesn't take what I say seriously, I tend to converse better with people who have whole brains

Bit unfair, what they were saying was valid. Number of times I've had my drill stop and had to use the handle as a lever to finish the job which this number would impact. Don't think it is specific to an impact drill though affects all drills
I don’t know the first thing about Impact Drivers, but I need one. I think ThanksForThat’s input is quite valid - I’ve just learnt a bit and I’m not going to go for this deal. Two sides to every coin and all that.
Unless they sell out quickly, these will drop in price, probably by £10 fairly quickly, just like the recent drill did.

I suggested he should post the Wickes one as the specs are superior but he refused. Why not go for that? A fiver more, only one battery (which is smaller capacity) and 2 year guarantee vs 3 year, but the quoted torque figure is higher.

I've never seen an impact driver for less than £50 with 2 batteries. Any evidence to prove this? Oh yeah I saw a Nintendo switch for £100 brand new last year .

It's not a drill - it's an impact driver as stated in the headline. Maybe you're not aware of the difference?

Oh dear ! Have I offended your Impact Driver sensibilities ?
Then go buy one, hug it to your chest and hum a soothing lullaby to it
And for God's sake - you and the other impact fundamentalists need to get off your high horse - not knowing (or bloody caring) about impact drivers and drills ISN'T some kind of religious sacriledge

Yes, sniffy and pompous, ergo tantrum
And if you disagree, doesn't bother me as Bernard Cribbins used to sing
I'll let you and your fellow faux experts to discuss it at length over tea and impact drivers (Oh and Ninendos - God alone knows why you threw that in, but no accounting when trying desperatly to seem knowledgeable)

Did you manage to find me this drill for way under £50 becasue I'd like to buy one. I don't have an impact driver and would love one.
IT'S NOT A DRILL!!!!!!!!!
lol, cmon now now children, play nicely.
see what youve started now "thanks for that"???? lol
3 - 5 hour charger. Put it back and buy something else.

Its not a drill at all, buy this to drill with you will be sorely disappointed, its an impact driver FFS.

The Lidl one looks similar but has way higher torque, the batterys look like they are the same too.

That wasn't the point, was it ?
Not being a DIY-er myself, if you and the other pompous....er....person had've just said "Impacts and drills are not the same mate" I would have said "Oh. Right." And that would have been that. But the truly gormless want to be clever. Like you two. And rub people up the wrong way unnecessarily.
Oh and do you want to input Nintendos PS4's or game boys at this point ?
You seem to have a need for pointless droning
