I just use a step ladder. Getting in to my loft is easy. Getting out is fun.

Got one yesterday, not unwrapped yet as it seems very light and narrow.

it needs to be light in order to push it back up into the loft, and narrow to fit in the loft hatch. Light and narrow is good.
Just bought one. I am sure you can buy better quality, but it meets my “price point” and will do the job safely - certainly better than the step ladder I have used for the last 20 years. The photo is from the packaging and gives the installation dimensions.

Recently fitted youngman 3 section loft ladder, bought from amazon for 56.... Good quality and practical for narrow hatch opening. Good for infrequent use. In my opinion youngman would be a better choice compared to aldi.

Ah good to know thanks. But for only being used every so often like Loft Ladders are do you think it would be capable looking at yours?

I have one that is the cheapest of the cheap from b&q which is currently £39. It works but it is only a two section one not three

they can be a beast to fit. I hated doing mine.
If you get one or have one installed just be really careful when opening the hatch as the one we have seems to come down very fast and with some force.

I saw them in my local store last night, this post reminds me I was going to look into it - I'm after a loft ladder. One thing which I noticed is that it looked narrow. I agree they need to be narrow to fit in a loft but you also want to be stable when moving a load up/down.

Im pretty sure they are suppose to be mounted so they are flat in the loft and you use a poll to pull it down. At least that's what my friends is like
Keep hitting myself on my current one which looks similar to this one
. Probably better to get something that's of better quality.

Actually no, The youngman is rated at max load 100Kgs, This one (which is a rebadged Abru) is rated at 150 kg.

Also a 3pt is not better than a 2pt. The 2part ladders are for floor to top ceiling joist of up to 2.66m. the 3pt for up to 3m. If you fit a 3pt where it should have been a 2pt you have excess ladder sticking up into the loft. Fine if you step off sideways, but a pain if you need to go over the top.
I had a 2 fold set years ago, they need more space in the loft when folded up, if you're tight for space then the 3 fold is a good option. If used correctly then they do a reasonable job forbthe price they are. If you want strong and sturdy with rails then you'll have to fork out the extra.
This is about normal price when ever they sell this so why a deal?

If people just take it one step at a time, they will be fine
Got one from tool station for £50 the other week, current price is £55, but always have a code floating about
Was just costing out how to build a 3 part foldable out of wood that sits on the trapdoor similar to the screwfix one in their new flyer. Pull the trapdoor down, the ladders come with it. Those pictures are rubbish on the Aldi site, how does this fit into the loft? Just sits there and you need the pole in the 3rd picture to pull down, thereby rotating the ladders and needing x cm of clearance above?

Youngman don't do them anymore. It's gone from SGB, Youngman and now Werner Co and soon Ali ladders are being replaced by fibreglass.... Such a shame

Yeah, get it wrong and end up losing your front teeth!
Bought one couple of years ago. It works great and easy to install.

Correct
Would love one but most if not all loft ladders I've come across are max 3m and my ceilings are just over the 10ft. The search continues....

I know this is " Holy thread ressurection Batman".....

But there are numerous models available if you look in the right place try
laddersandscaffoldtowers.co.uk/aca…wcB for a start

Most types are available in a height to more than cater for your ceilings

Hth.
Nice one mate!! That's looking very promising. I need an indoor project with all this rain!! Thanks for taking the time.
Having had it fitted yesterday I can safely say I'm quite impressed.. unfortunately mine had obviously been dropped in transit so had a bent paid of arms bug not enough to prevent if getting fitted and I'll happily replace the arms when they send me the replacements .....which was one of the distinguishing factors for me ...plus being stored directly aBove the hatch means you don't need to know the exact surroundings of the area or whether a traditional fold over up and slide would foul something...

Nice rubber mounted wide treads !
A little flex when first alighting the ladder... But soon feels find and 'normal'...
