What thickness of wood would this be suitable for?

No don't get this one. I had it and it was flimsy thin metal plates. Easily bent and very low quality for something you want a precision cut from.

It's rated to 25mm, but in reality it's a little underpowered for that, it'll take a long time even at 18mm. (I'm comparing to a 1500W 190mm circ saw, and I'm talking 1meter in 50 secs vs 1meter in 30secs )

However they are brilliant for thinner materials. I love mine. So much control and accuracy. Got mine for £40 and I consider that a bargain.

  • Cuts up to max. 26mm depth, is that enough? As I am seeing other mini circular saw to be 46mm?
Damn you again HUKD, ordered! Now I'll need to find somewhere to hide it from my wife.

Think its standard for a low budget mini saw.

Was tempted by this one: wickes.co.uk/Wor…292 for £48.
Is it easy to get blades for these? Most of the other mini circular saw blades are 85mm this is 89mm

This is definitely the right saw for you as it seems there are not many requirements you have :-)
Would be a great bit of kit if you needed to cut your toe nails

That was a bit tongue and cheek.... This will be ideal for a flooring project where my larger saw will be too substantial. I usually only buy Bosch but for £30 it seems good value, we'll see!

Sorry, I just think that with a bit wait there might be better offers around and you might be able to use it for more than one project.

Check this offer from the past:

Now, we don’t have a time machine but something similar comes along again I am sure.

Again sorry for the comment
I'd be interested to know what owners think of this, I've been really impressed with Aldi's Workzone stuff.
Aldi workzone power tools ...right I have a "few" (damn hotukdeals!!)...but have never needed Aldis 3 year warranty, all have been excellent for an "advanced" diyer/bodger! ...especially for the ££
Don't have THIS tool, (was lucky enough to get one of the Worx ones from b&q a few months back...which is STILL currently, unused in its box!!!)

Comment was fine, I saw the funny side of it!
Does not include any cutting blades.
Just wanted to ask if anyone noticed that base plate is quite loose and the saw can't actually be used as a precision saw? I'm gonna be returning my one

I find that the cutting depth adjuster slips under very little pressure meaning you can't set it to say, 10mm and expect it to stay there once you start moving the saw. Also the base plate gets stuck "up" when you push down and is not a smooth mechanism at all. Almost like it needs oiling. But maybe it's because it was only £30?
