Self explanatory really. I decided to try out WoW again having forgot old account password. Upon login in I was offered an account with all expansions bar the new one (WoD) for £4.99 and that includes 30 days play! Bargain

New expansion comes out on the 13th November, can't wait!

not played in over a year due to too many realms that are either unbalanced in sides, or unpopulated.

Voted cold, as they refuse to do realm merges, which would get people playing again - instead they want you to pay to move each character & then I still cant move my guild bank, or wealth of gold I have accumulated.

They have merged realms now for quite some time. Multiple at one time. My old realm got connected to two large ones at once. Much better now

You can't vote cold because of that. This is a good deal regardless. Also they have already merged the realms quite a while ago...

Anyone got a good price for the expansion? I cant seem to find much deals on it

hot - this is a good deal.

HOT for the deal but the cost each month/year is alot

Tonight is the night!

I've never understood when people think £8.99 a month I'd a lot to pay for WoW. It costs virtually naf all to buy up front. The replay value is huge and it would take well over a year for the average gamer to complete.

Look at Microsoft and Sony gamers... Most pay a sub of £40 a year to play online. They then have to buy the games. Most console games will buy 6+ games a year at £40-£50 a piece then the Dlc to continue playing with friends online.

Just saying.

I won't ever be going back but fair play that is a cracking deal for the handful that haven't already tried it

Rent a Movie, 3 hours entertainment - £4
Subscribe to Sky, 90+ hours entertainment - £30 (average 3 hours a day, cheapest package)
Sub to WoW, 90+ hours entertainment - £10

It's not really that expensive in the gran scheme of things. Don't forget WoW will run on pretty crap hardware so it doesn't require expensive Graphics cards either.

For geeks!

I was offered this as an 'upgrade' when I installed the free WoW Starter Edition so that I could play the Mists of Pandaria expansion which was just added in October. I will see how I get on as it is free to play until you reach level 20 then it is definitely wortth the upgrade for an extra 30 days play. I generally get bored wit the game after that anyway.

The greatest game I ever played, and if you've never played an MMO this is a great deal.

Sadly I miss vanilla days, not the gameplay of it, as that has much improved from the grind-fest it was, but just the complete newness of it all. Back when I logged on I had never played online before, let alone an MMO and most other players back then were in a similar boat. Created a unique atmosphere of its own that can't really be replicated again. I also don't have the time anymore

Heat added.

Good deal, esp if you've never played or want to start a fresh.

I still can't get over the fact they want £7 for a name change on a subscription based service. I could understand a nominal charge as there is some DB work to carry out and it shouldn't be a regular occurrence for player or it'd get confusing / be open to abuse.

Says the person posting on an Internet forum about a game they have no interest in.

I recently got the £8 Starcraft 2 deal so I have the Battlenet software installed, if I install WoW will I get this offer?

I hope so.

I think I did get the offer, it was £4.50 for 30 days, not sure what expansions I have? Whatever I clicked did say it was half price.

I can see "product level: Mists of Pandaria" so I am assuming that's up to date.

Mists is the last expansion so yes you got the deal.

I probably paid something like £500 for WoW over 3+ years. It could have been £1500 for all I care, it doesn't matter.

With these games, the real cost is not what you actually pay for it, but what you could have been doing with the time that you sink in. Yes, it's a game and it is fun. However, looking back 5 years later, I wouldn't say the fun was worth it -I wish I could have my /played time back and I bet that most of you will agree, when you look back at some point. Trust me, you can get better fun from more "dense" sources and still use the rest of the time for things that you can look back and be happy that you did.

Not that I would likely listen to my advice back then, but had to post it.
