We survived the zombie apocalypse, but how many of us are still haunted by that terrible time? We have (temporarily?) defeated the living dead, but at what cost? Told in the haunting and riveting voices of the men and women who witnessed the horror firsthand, World War Z, a #1 New York Times bestseller and the basis for the blockbuster movie, is the only record of the plague years.

Definitely worth reading. Loved it 🔥

Brilliant book, don't be put off by the distinctly average film they made from it.
They really should tell this story from the zombie's point of view. All of those humans butchering you for no apparent reason. It's so unfair!

Warm Bodies movie comes to mind (although it's a zombie rom-com, really)
The rendition of "Springtime for Hitler" is particularly brilliant.
Love this book.
Hard not to bite at this price.
The audiobook of this is also excellent.
Instabuy for me. Loved the movie and heard of course the book is better. Fantastic deal and thanks for posting. I'm subbed to the Kindle Daily Deal and ridiculously I don't think this was on it.

I have heard good things about it, and you can add Audible narration for £3.49 - so even if you are not interested in the Kindle book, you can buy it and get the audiobook for 99p + £3.49 = £4.48 which is quite cheap. Cheaper than 1 Audible credit anyway.
One of my favourite books ever!!!
Absolutly amazing book, but its one of the few where id highly recommend the Audiobook over the book, the character acting is amazing!
Was so disappointed that as the movie went through development hell it strayed further and further from this awesome book. The film was so bad they changed the entire last 2/3rds of the film between the preview trailers and the final film.
Facinating movie fact that peter capaldi's character is called "WHO doctor" in the end credits this was due to him being cast as doctor who but it hadnt been official announced yet, amazing eh?
Really good book, do not be put off by the film

You can stream it for free on YouTube (or at least you could a couple of months ago when I listened to it).

I get that but its a known easter egg that was done on purpose.
Great book - film meh
I'm one of those rare people that prefer the film (though the final act wasn't great), though they're so wildly different, you can enjoy both without it impacting each other.

I quite like the movie
Busy reading this now. Really quite good. I watched the movie first - not quite sure how they managed to mess it up so bad :/
Agreed on great book, great price for it.

I quite like the movie

I didn't mind the film but should have never been associated with the book sharing absolutely no similarities apart from Zombies.
yeah anyone who has seen the film and thinks it was good thats an acceptable opinion to have. but it is nothing like the book. i dont know if it was because it was my first audiobook and thats why i enjoyed it so much but it was excellent. really a shame that the movie was so different.
shock and awe tactics makes ur eardrums burst and should stun u, doesnt quite work if they are zombies. plus most zombies are in their PJ's. ever climbed downed a 15 story building using bedsheets? ah the joys of this book was amazng.

Same with the video game... great game but doesn't directly tie in to either.
