Op, sorry to hijack your thread. I'm not much of a diy person, but thinking of getting a jigsaw to cut some boards, would this tool be better than a jigsaw? or do they serve different purposes please?

Just wondering to get this rather than a jigsaw.

heat added btw.

I think this one has been down at £20/£25 the one with the extra blades and laser £25/£30.

this is the never ending clearance.

Yep I got the laser one with extra blades and carry case for 25 at xmas, price keeps changing depending on what store you go to

can anyone comment on the worx one Vs this?

If it's floorboards (you can set depth up to 25mm) or flatboard sheet board you are cutting this is the kiddie for you. Nice 90 degree cut when used with supplied fence or clamped straight edge. Great little saw - try to get version with spare blades.

Hi there. I had the worx one and replaced it with this. Both work fine but I has a issues with the worx one which was I couldn't remove the blade when I needed to replace it (and yes I know the bolt is removed by turning the opposite way). I purchased the titan one and not had any problems. I wouldn't say one was better than the other as long as you can remove the blade..... On mine it wouldn't budge!

If you consider £87 to be an 'extra few quid' that is!!

Not used one of these before, but it might be easier to use a standard wired circular saw.

Both different tools, jig saw more suited to cutting 'shapes' this would be for cutting straight cuts.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to choose this over a standard circular saw - perhaps a little more 'manageable'/'less scary'?

Standard circular saw being something like this for the same price http://www.screwfix.com/p/evolution-rage1b1852-1200w-185mm-multipurpose-circular-saw-230v/84664

Not used the Rage Circular Saw but I have their 255cm sliding mitre saw and so far so good, although I've only done about 30 cuts...
