The Ballad of Lidl & Aldi springs to mind youtu.be/cL7…2Zc

Will this also work as a power screwdriver? (Or whatever they're called)

It's a good price but a terrible drill. Even for the most basic diy jobs it cuts out, has a habit of rusting up quickly.

This thing is a massive beast. You can do screws but you wont want to.

very good drill got one for £30 back in April from homebase/ebay and I have only used it for wood (I have other drills for concrete/metal) but I use it a lot indoors and out and no problems (up to 300 pilot holes a day, 2-3 days a week) although I would recommend that you replace the bits that come with it for some that aren't useless, so dewalt (imo the dewalt extreme range is excellent) is usually good and for cheaper items I found the erbauer stuff at screwfix/toolstation?(cant remember which) to be the best at that price point, beware some brand name companies cheaper stuff is useless like bosch x (the ones that are always on offer in B&Q) or makita cheap sets are utter crap.

its instores only, what a shame my nearest homebase is too far

I stand corrected

Looks like good value but you have to question some of the marketing hype these days: eg "aluminium gear housing", well of course it is but are they trying to imply the gears themselves are metal (like professional kit) not plastic (like budget kit)? It would be interesting to know what's really inside where it counts.

Hot anyway.

Cold!!! I saw this 2-3 weeks ago when I was looking for a basic hammer drill but not in stock from the 6 nearest stores around Peterborough. I had an Argos value drill (China made) which I used once or twice 3 years ago. Then used it again and gor broken. I ended up buying Macallister MHD750A (German made) from B&Q and happy with it.

Nice colour, heat from me...

This IS A Great Deal and a great drill but impossible to get as all the Homebase Stores in a 30 mile radius of Bradford West Yorkshire are showing as not available for collection or home delivery - So why advertise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmmmm, get a B and D drill at HMF here imo : hmftools.co.uk/pro…RES

I always regret cheap drills!

Thx OP , used the drill today , for fitting a shelf and using as a screw driver ,

Worked a treat , !!!
