Don't believe the hype.
Argos are good at using RRP in their price descriptions.
I bought a Rotary watch, from one of their Clearance Bargains stores, for £17.
The funny thing about the lifetime guarantee is that the servicing cost more than a new watch. buy a couple at this price and when one dies pull the new one out, job done.

Bet this doesn;t set you back £500 every time it stops like my Rolex does.

You pay £500 every time your rolex stops, lol wtf. Why does it even stop?? Just change the battery or wind it

But in all seriousness your rolex sounds shady if it stops. Surely its guaranteed

It will almost certainly be automatic. Auto's require servicing and re-oiling but if he is paying £500 he is getting done. My Daytona costs me £130 for a full service every other year at my local jewelers and has not stopped once in it's life.

It stopped one time, Goldsmiths told me I had been wearing it in water. The seal had failed and let shower water inside. £500.00. I left it on top of wardrobe for several years and mainspring+++ failed when I wound it up.(it is self winding when worn on wrist. £480. Last year i found a place in Tring - you post it to them they polished it and repaired it yet again for £250 ish. Half price. Service interval should be every two years to oil and clean it. I bought it from Goldsmiths in Oxford 1991.
