If it makes any difference it wasn't an actual pot noodle it was "yum yum" noodles which are those really cheap packet noodles that make a pot noodle seem premium lol

To be fair, I'd probably prefer the Pot Noodle to any of the food I've had crossing the Atlantic recently on BA, AA, Virgin or Air New Zealand!

I do draw the line at no hand luggage though. It's one thing saying we can manage with a couple of changes of clothes and using hotel toiletries, but unless it's a very long, miserable day trip, I can't really see who this fare is targeted at.

Bad deal dressed up to be something else cold.

Do you submit the code under "Gift Certificate
Do you have an gift code?"

Code doesn't seem to work any more. Can't get any discounts to apply. Must have expired it early.

You'll be happy to know it would now be only 20kg and £106 for the privilege.

For the West Coast I can see this deal offering you some savings, but unless you want to go for a 2-3 day break where you can get away with just the free small rugsack sized luggage for the East Coast the savings just are not there. The luggage, even just the 'normal' cabin sized fee wipes it out, and you can go direct.

Really? We had so many bear and moose encounters but it was May time and they were all waking up scavenging for food. In Jasper once the corn trains went through they were all on the track eating the spillages. We also saw elk, wolves and black/brown bears. A bit scary sometimes...

It's 1 night just so you don't have to get the motorhome straight away! Toronto isn't cheap for hotels or accommodation but feel free to triple your budget for somewhere better for the sake of 1 night. It's hardly like you'll be staying there long. It's budget and centrally located kind of Travelodge like comparable.

Unfortunately some people can't grasp the fact that not all of us can afford to pay for expensive holidays & that the more we can save on flights then the more we can spend on entertainment etc when we get there, or alternatively the sooner we'll be able to afford another holiday.

For the record never said it couldn't be done just difficult, but it is a … For the record never said it couldn't be done just difficult, but it is a long time especially for families with young kids and the flights are longer than normal for people that normally fly to the U.S. from London adds 2/3 hours to the flight plus time in airports makes it difficult for families and as someone who regularly travels on multi stop flights only of up to 24 hour flight time only, I know how difficult it can be on long flights even as a single traveler to rely on the iPad and with the new rules on needing them charged it's something to think about. This is a good price and have considered it as well, and last comment from me, it is 2014 and people do have their own entertainment but they also have high expectation even if they paid a cheap price and many wouldn't think that there was no entertainment on flights to the U.S..

My flight to Canada via the US in the summer involved a flight to Philadelphia, 7 hours stop over and then a couple of hours on the second flight. My kids (6 and 3) both have innotabs. A couple of spare packs of batteries (2 x 8pack from Ikea) easily saw them through what turned out to be 24 hours from the house to our destination.

I've flown UK to North America via Iceland with a 2 year old and on board entertainment and, as mentioned above, a longer journey with 2 kids to keep entertained. Having our own entertainment was infinitely better for the whole family (apart from me having to make sure the innotabs were loaded with episodes of Peppa Pig and Horrid Henry). Batteries did well. I honestly don't see that it is "going to be a long flight" without on-board entertainment on these flights. 3 hours to Iceland with Lunch, 1 hr 10 in Reykjavik (Small airport but definitely not too long to wait) and then a 5 hour flight with a meal. I reckon I'd need 6 hours max from a tablet for that.

They are offering low cost long haul flights which stop over at a European destination first (although I didn't see mention of this in the search I did). Basically, the impression I got was that if you want to get to the US on a budget, and don't mind landing and taking off again, this is a new option. Good luck to them. Even at their prices the taxes make it eyewatering to get any US city. Boston in the spring is £791 for two. Most of it is taxes. Worth a punt, I'd say.

What if, like the majority of the population, you happen to live outside the centre of the world in London ?

You obviously haven't flown from the UK to North America via Iceland. The … You obviously haven't flown from the UK to North America via Iceland. The Iceland to Boston leg is less than 6 hours which most decent tablets will be fine following a charge in Reykjavik . If there was onboard entertainment it would only be on for part of that flight anyway so most decent tablets and laptops would easily cope with the same length of flight.I flew to the states and then onto Canada in the summer with US Airways with just the overhead TVs. I haven't got a clue what was on them as I had my Asus T100. Battery life, approx. 7 hours which was ample given I also spent some time eating. It felt like the shortest long haul flight I'd ever been on because I watched a couple of movies that I wanted to watch. From my observations, may others were prepared for the lack of entertainment too.As I said, it's 2014http://www.engadget.com/2014/08/05/future-of-ife/
