Wray Daiquiri o'clock!!!

This stuff caused my mate to get married. Poor lad.

Ovenproof ? What does this mean

Mix to taste...only the brave drink it straight, I use it to good effect at xmas. Very good price heat added!

nice

this stuff is lovely, but it really knocks your head off

oh my!!!

Mix with orange juice and mango pulp and serve over ice.

I'd rather drink TCP than this stuff and probably tastes better too.

Jamaican nectar, heading to Asda now!!!

Horrific stuff, but what a bargain if you like it!

sometimes % vol is also % proof. It's just what is said typically, its an old English term. If you have any queries or questions please consult the internet before replying to me, as i am a human, and google is a machine.

That's wrong they are completely different terms, and US proof and UK proof are again different.

It might be "said typically" by a few people, but the more people who don't realise their mistake, the greater the need to correct it - otherwise those misinformed people will go on to further misinform others

Like anything over 40% with a mixer or water.

You do understand that proof has never equalled alcohol volume right?
I'd love to see your sources saying otherwise.

how about around 30+ years of English history and habit? Where everyone would say oh its 40% proof, or 32% proof and so on and so forth. It's just a said / done thing that you're clearly unfamiliar with.

I've never once heard anyone refer to % abv as proof (them being equal).
They are two separate units, its saying like kilometres and miles are the same or degree C and F are the same. I'm not saying it might never happen, but those who do are idiots.

For example a 10% proof beer is around 5% abv; think 10% abv is 10% proof and your talking 1 beer before you over the limit, think 5% proof is 5% abv and your drinking a low alcohol beer (~the same vol as a shandy).
Its not only stupid, its dangerous (far to easy to drink more alcohol then you think you are).

It worries me what people think they they see 100% and above proof spirits....
