Wuntu app now includes FREE Dine card

89
Posted 29th MarAvailable: National
Wuntu have added a new "Dine" feature which offer 2for1, 25% or 10% off at participating restaurants. Essentially this the Dine Card (£49.99, www.dineclub.co.uk) as also offered via their app to purchasers at GoCompare - but now completely free to Three customers!

This doesn't appear to be the same scheme are Compare The Market uses for their restaurant app offer, they complement each other, so you can use both for maximum food deal coverage.

To access, just update your wuntu app to the latest version and you should see "dine" as a new button across the bottom.of the screen.

Found on Android, the IOS version should follow shortly - keep checking your app store for updates.

Now you have noexcuse not to impress your mum on Mother's Day with your new-found, uncharacteristic lunchtime largesse...

Update 4th April: apparently now also live in IOS

Don't get your logic. This is free. Maybe the meerkat one could be free, but probably not without bending their rules.

Silly question but how do you update the App ?

There are no silly questions, only silly answers.

On Android, go into the Google Play Store app (it looks like a triangle on its side) on the menu select "my apps and games" and you should now see an "updates" tab.

This sounds good, where in the app did you find it? Couldn't see it under Food & Drink
There's a Dine button at the bottom of the screen. At least there is on the Android app.
Make sure you have the latest update of the app
It's quite nice as it offers a lot of local independent restaurants rather than chains. So definitely good for me

Ta have found it
Just updated the app and "Dine" has appeared. This could be dangerous. My local Indian offers 2 for 1! Heat added.

If you’ve got an iPhone, go to the App Store on your phone, click on updates along the bottom and you’ll see which updates are available for all apps.

Not just 25%
One of my local is 50% off but it's already overpriced so the 50% just makes it a bit cheaper than other places

The thing is about these 2 for 1 and 25/50 offers they're already overpriced
Why can't we get 50% off McDonalds
i had just updated ios but can't see
Ooh thanks , had to update the app , so would have missed this , but loads of places near me at 50% off or 2 for 1 . Also they are different to the places on my taste card , and a lot of independents which is interesting .

likely iOS will come along in a few days after greenlighting by Apple.

As I state in the post, the array of restaurants differs quite a lot from Meerkat (compare the market) so they are complementary rather than alternatives to each other. Plus it's free, so the most sensible option is to have both. You've literally nothing to lose.

It *does* duplicate Go Compares app offer, so not useful only if you already have that. I know you can get the Meerkat app for a purchase of a bit less than £2 (is that "essentially free"? Class discuss...) but I have no idea what the cheapest qualifying Go Compare purchase needs to be.

Hmmm fair point. I have just updated my app and although the restaurants are same on both, I really like the map feature.

Thanks OP

Btw meerkats meals is free atm

I think all depends on you location. For me (right in the centre of a capital city) I'd say there's roughly 50% difference between restaurants listed on meerkats and wuntu, with the former leaning more towards chains (sooooooo many pizza expresses) the latter independents.

Thanks, didn't realise that about meerkats, I had to pay (albeit a token amount) nearly a year ago - I look forward to renewing it for free!

Whichever app you use - enjoy your cheap dinner!

Just had a quick look around and not bad, like the map feature so can just browse what's in the area.

Nice spot OP. Can't figure out why Three sneak this in yet don't tell anyone. Seems like a marketing 'shoot yourself in the foot' moment.

Probably because the iOS release isn't done yet. I bet they'll tweet and text once it is released.
