Considered lurid and shocking by mid-19th-century standards, Wuthering Heights was initially thought to be such a publishing risk that its author, Emily Brontë, was asked to pay some of the publication costs.

Wuthering Heights is a wild, passionate story of the intense and almost demonic love between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, a foundling adopted by Catherine’s father. After Mr Earnshaw’s death, Heathcliff is bullied and humiliated by Catherine’s brother Hindley and wrongly believing that his love for Catherine is not reciprocated, leaves Wuthering Heights, only to return years later as a wealthy and polished man. He proceeds to exact a terrible revenge for his former miseries. The action of the story is chaotic and unremittingly violent, but the accomplished handling of a complex structure, the evocative descriptions of the lonely moorland setting and the poetic grandeur of vision combine to make this unique novel a masterpiece of English literature.

A fiend of a book — an incredible monster... The action is laid in hell, — only it seems places and people have English names there. —Dante Gabriel Rossetti

A monument of the most striking genius that nineteenth-century womanhood has given us. —Clement Shorter

The greatest work of fiction by any man or woman Europe has produced to date. —Anthony Ludovici

There is no “I” in ‘Wuthering Heights’. There are no governesses. There are no employers. There is love, but it is not the love of men and women. Emily was inspired by some more general conception. The impulse which urged her to create was not her own suffering or her own injuries. She looked out upon a world cleft into gigantic disorder and felt within her the power to unite it in a book. —Virginia Woolf

4 Amazon ebook posts in a row, why not post them all together in one?

It's a good question. I'm increasingly seeing free Kindle books being touted as deals. They are all either a) absolute rubbish or b) out-of-copyright classics that everyone knows (don't they?) are free anyway. Have been for years and years.

Either way, in my opinion they aren't "hot deals". But they all seem to gather automatic heat. Maybe that's why they are posted?
Nothing wrong with posting FREE Kindle eBooks - Indeed I post them regularly myself and enjoy finding them on HUKD!

What peeves most people and often results in cold votes (even for extremely good ebooks) is people who repeatedly post ebook after ebook after ebook - particularly those in a string which just look like spam.

I personally take the time to put them all together in one post so that it doesn't occupy everyone's HUKD news feed and dilute the quality of the thread. Here's an example hotukdeals.com/dea…4 instead of posting 22 separate FREE Kindle ebook posts.

Its not difficult, it just takes a little more time and effort, but I think you will find the votes speak for themselves.

Or... you could go to Amazon, pick a category of book, for instance Classics. Then sort on Price, Low to High. Bingo!

I think the point of individual posts is that not all books are created equally. Some books are better bargains than others. For instance, doing the Amazon search thing, I found Gone With The Wind was free. I had no idea that was out of copyright. Worth an individual post I think. Also individual posts will come up in the search function. You can't really search on "Lots of free books"!
