X Board Balance Board - white or black £249. RRP £349 Home Bargains Pre Order

One of those balance board things - a Segway without handles basically and not a hoverboard.

This is the future, apparently. Use only on private property or you will be arrested by a robocop.

RRP £349.00 so you'll save yourself a hundred quid.

"Back to the Future II promised us that in 2015 we'd be levitating on boards around towns and cities... well the X-Board Electric Balance Board is even better than the futuristic hoverboards! X-Board Electric Balance Boards are controlled through your feet; lean forwards to go straight ahead, lean backwards to reverse and lean left to turn right and right to turn left. It's that simple!

This balance board has two independent electric motors to help you glide effortlessly across the floor. Each footpad is rubberised to provide an extra grip when riding. The wheel guards help to prevent your feet from contacting the wheels whilst balancing. Two blue lights on the front light up and will flash to indicate your controls."

PLEASE NOTE
This is pre-order - in stock 15th Dec.Orders will be dispatched on or after 15th December 2015

The Police/CPS have declared these illegal on public roads. See here.
the fact they have now been made illegal on public property, I would hold off as this will have a bad impact on the price
completely disagree, if anything it will make them more in demand...

bikes are illegal to ride on paths etc ... it makes no difference
there was a new article where two guys made a point of riding these around town and a copper even give it a try in the middle of town.
I can see police stopping and charging people using these the law is out dated.
are these actually any good? they seem like a bit of a gimmick, and a fairly expensive one at that. . .

True, but if you stick your foot out in front of a bike nothing happens. Do that in front of one of these and you get to see a moron lose all the skin on his chin. What's not to like?
Another cheap nasty fad seen on every council estate in the country. Not surprised there illegal on the pavements.Just as bad as mobility scooters which should by law be insured.

I can't find anything that tells you how you stop the thing. I would imagine the way to stop it is by standing upright. If you are unable to stand upright, ie, walk with a permanent stoop, then I would imagine there is no way of stopping it.

you are correct, but the fact there has already been convictions tells me they are not going to turn a blind eye to this, I am half convinced cops dont even know it is illegal to ride on paths as half the paths around my area are cycle paths, on the pavement... so clearly it is one of those laws that is just regarded as not applicable....these however are new to market and there will be tickets everywhere

It's not against any law riding a bicycle on a cycle path. Not sure what your point is.

I think you need to try one out in order to understand lol. I have one myself and you stop by standing upright yes but the whole point of this board is to keep your balance. It is much easier than you are imagining. You don't need to tilt forward/back that much to move, it's pretty impressive.

There have already been convictions? Where? When? The companies selling these are so convinced that cops won't care that they are offering to pay for any fines incurred for riding on pavements. I have to agree with them that cops don't care, I have been riding mine around since and no-one has stopped me.

They are very good! I wanted to see if I would get stopped, using mine on pavements and police don't seem to care. If anything, they just stand staring at how they work. Once you get the hang of it, you have a lot of control and find you can do some really cool things with them. I also use mine to do workouts too

That's a use I never really thought of. I suppose it's effective at developing core stability like the balance / wobble boards you see in gyms.
I don't think I'll bother posting any deals in the future. This one has ended in a fight and is now colder than Mars.

Not exactly cheap are they?
Can't really understand why they're illegal. Enough idiots cycle on the pavements around here, I can't see it's any worse than that. I'd probably get one of they were legal to use anywhere.

Or you could stand up and have a similar workout.
So basically if we didn't have to divert our resources to unruly people, politicians, bureaucrats, corporations, socialism, wars etc and technology was such that a real hover board could exist, it would be illegal to use it. The future is actually worse than if Biff Tannen were president lol.

sorry you cannot criticise this product - its a serious work out tool only for the hardcore
if you do then you get called sad and pathetic, you then get boasted to about being a software developer (you may not think this is relevant but naturally you'd be wrong) and multiple ironic insults to your intelligence.
your comments then get removed whilst the misleading 'ooh its great for workouts' stuff remains

i bought shoes one time, this helped me walk outside which sometimes has stones which can be uncomfortable on the feet - great workout!
