Went bad when Mulder got too big for his shoes.
Also, when they started focussing on alien invasion storyline too much.

Yeah it went down hill. Still, this is a great price for one of the greatest TV shows. Voted hot.

What happened in the end? Are Aliens real or not cause I got bored after about 6 years

I'd say the problem was there wasn't enough myth arc stuff and we never get to see the invasion which is supposed to happen. Too much monster of the week nonsense and then they brought in the T1000 and that other woman and the chemistry was all gone.

^ monster of the week was the best part- its called the X FILES not where he heck is mulders sister is she with the aliens

I ordered this from HMV before, can't remember how much it was exactly, but it was around 60-70, still not got around to watching it but good deal if you can find it, wasn't in my local.

The monster episodes were just filler that they could assign to separate writers for logistical production reasons. Some were good but some were pretty damn weak and didn't really add anything. Shows like Babylon 5 demonstrate the value of over arching plotlines vs traditional stand alone enclosed episodes.
The fact you lost interest in the aliens plotline and got frustrated over the sister thing shows those plot points were too spaced out and watered down to hold your attention.

Bought this in 2008 from amazon for £71.98
Thought that was a good deal at the time considering blu ray and such wasn't even around then - no blu ray versions of this but then again they were never filmed in high enough grade quality to be transfered as they were meant for TV.
The later series 6-9 lost my attention for the most part - thus the monsters of the week episodes kept me going. The additional two agents introduced did add some much needed variety too.
In the last series when Jim from Neighbours showed up (Alan Dale) - you knew there was going to be trouble.

Still a hot price for a series that (for me) has stood up for the last 15 years.
Note: these DVDs are in 'M-lock' cases whereby the DVDs are held in mutliple holders in ma box for each season - unlike the foldout ones that were found in the singular boxsets.

love x files!

I got this a couple of years ago. Kept me busy for a year!!

The X Files really shows up stuff like Heroes where they seem to make it up as they go along. New series, new bad guy, end of series they have saves the day. No continuity throughout!

The X Files set up the story arc from the very furst episode and carried it on till that the last.
Well thought out and thoroughly enjoyable till ther end ( I'm in the small group that actaully liked John Dogget)

I'm still hoping they make a film to finish the story off. We have a 2012 date set in the show so they need to get a move on!

Let's not mention the last film, beyond poor..

Yeah the last film was terrible, it was just a feature length episode.

If another film is done, it has to finish off the main story though

Voted hot as this is a great price.

I bought it on the back of this deal posted back in early 2008, although it's now only the same price as back then I'd still recommend this to any fans of the series.

Suffice to say none of the discs have ever left their cases, much like most of my impulse buys bought on the back of deals posted here.

edit:
For those interested this is now also showing as £59.99 online at the HMV website.

The monster episodes were always the best bit, even the weakest of those episodes was better than that pap about mulders sister and aliens.

Its nothing to do with the spacing between those episodes by the way, just the fact that it was rubbish.

If babylon 5 is an example of how a show should be done I should throw my televison away now...babylon 5 rates right down there with deep space nine and other such tosh.

monster eps were just filler for me. It was all about the alien invasion!
