It would appear xbox are slowly clearing up in the console wars, its a shame how playstation appear to have lost what they used to dominate.

I think you'll find Nintendo are!

Must be a fair few new owners coming on board, Excellent price!

Can these be flashed with customer firmware ?

Cracking deal, and with some kinect deals around 100 it seems to be a good time to take the plunge

but isn't the amazon standard delivery longer than tesco's? also i don't think i can order the tesco one because of this "selected store" thing. i have around 3 tesco's where i live and i doubt they'll have it in stock, anyhow great deal!

i had enough of 360,moving over to ps3 myself.

I know theres no quidco or clubcard points but if you think you save the same amount youd get with quidco as youd pay for delivery to your home and nectar points instead of clubcard points

would rather have it delivered next day rather than up to a week later tbh

If I only wanted an XBOX to play the games and not be connected online, is there any point going for a 250gb version - would a 4gb version suffice?

Original Poster

well I posted this deal, people can either go for this or tesco, but if you dont have tesco clubcard and quidco, its a good deal imo

Why don't people put the PRICE in the title.

So Annoying.

Original Poster

only my second post but ive edited the title now

You can add Dead Space 2 for another £20

Hard drive is a must even if you don't play online or download stuff, Installing games to the hard drive makes it really quiet. Remember there is a 12XDVD drive in there and they are loud no matter what you do to make them quiet.

Possibly although its good to have the option to install the games onto the drive (improves load times, quieter due to no dvd spin etc).

Also I wouldn't advise anyone to own any console and not have it internet enabled since pretty much EVERY game has bug patches released. If you really want to enjoy a PS3 or XBox to its full potential you really want it on the net.

Mate this is a great price, you won't regret buying it in the long term. 4gb may seem enough, but in reality it's quite limiting.

Is this xbox more economical than the earlier models? My sons eats up electricity for fun.

I belive your missing my point, Yes Nintendo have sold the most consoles, but they sell very few games compared to the other two. It is not a console for serious gamers more of a family novelty console

Someone's tired! Nice work OP

Wow great price, Xbox 360 is the best console imo (Don't want a fanboy war) considering the games, onlive experience, Media features i.e Movies, Music, Facebook with media centre MKV BluRay rip playback etc and optional Kinect addon it really is awesome value and at that price even more so. Voted hot..

can't believe they sell so cheap?

I believe the slimline models use a combined CPU and GPU chip at lower voltages and run cooler than the old boxes...so yes..these should use less juice.

Oh i know, and its the week before my payday!! Typical haha

...MKV BluRay rip playback...

Without converting them into mp4?
Is that a recent thing? I didn't think the 360 could play mkvs. I've been using my blu-ray player to watch them...

grrr... i want one, but think i should wait for price wars!

Sony are still a much bigger player than Microsoft. The PS3 is only marginally behind in overall sales plus Sony have PS2 and PSP sales. PSP is upto 70 million now.

I've got both 360 and PS3 and they are fantastic consoles its the wii which struggles to get used due to so many dire games.

Its great to have 3 companies competing for our money, keeps the prices competitive. Well it does for ps3 and 360 anyway, nintendo seem to be able to charge what they like for any old tat.

I doubt if it would get any cheaper... its pretty awesome price, I wouldn't wait only to see the price sping back up..

Not anymore m8. Nintendo sales are dying down now (Wii sales anyway).

The new 360S uses half as much electricity as the ones released between Nov 2005 - July 2007.

XBOX 360 S Loudness & Power Consumption Tests

Ordered, this is my third Xbox 360 now

I can't wait until they release the next generation of consoles instead of repackaging the old ones, I miss the days when you would get a next gen console released every 2-4 years.

Depends on whether you want to install games to the hard drive to save wear on disc drive and also keep noise down.
